Description
Fired clay, 15"Sculpture inspired by photograph by rdhobbet . This is the sculpture form of the painting I posted earlier, trying to capture the same feeling of movement and light.
This is the Onyx Crunch clay which I've been trying out.

Is this piece here a final of this here:Β Β I am curious as we were having a conversation a while back. You were talking about how you are friends with a photographer and how you have a working relationship so that you can work on watercolor studies. I really like the piece you can see that the overall pose stayed the same with some minor changes in the hands and feet. I like the alternate drape as well. I also like how you turned her head in a different angle. Both have there merits. The pose in the watercolor is very peaceful and deliberate in the pose as its dance its both stiff where it needs to be and fluid where it too needs to be. The clay statuette is however feels like it has more movement as your minor changes/choices drive the piece into a whole different mood. It has a more authoritative and commanding presence and in the same relaxed.Β

For rectangular posts on IG I run them through Pixlr first. It embeds the rectangle in a square of the same max dimension.
