Description
Acrylic on canvas board.Unfortunately our computer is broken at the moment, so I can't print off any reference photos for painting. And I can only get on-line when I can borrow someone else's laptop.
So I'm a bit stuck with using photos from the Merlin calendars etc for reference that aren't ones I'd usually choose.
Had a go at a slightly different way of doing skin tones, this is mainly glazes laid on top of each other to gradually build up the colours.

Well, the episode with Uther's ghost was one of my favourite episodes ever. I LOVED that episode and I know I'm going to watch it over and over again.
But so far I've found the other episodes just a little bit "meh!" I've definitely enjoyed them, and they've had some really nice bits in them, but they aren't going to go in my list of all-time favourites. Early days yet though, I still have high hopes for the rest of the series. How about you?

Well despite being highly irritated about recurring 'Arwen' oments and the near-but-not-quite-magic-reveals, i am definetly enjoying the series and i'd also have to say the one with Uther Ghost is my favorite - the 'Teaching Poetry Scene is just hilarious! It's also good to see other elements of Merlins Magic like when he caused the earth to shake.
However... have you heard that our residentual hair model and apple lover Gwaine is leaving us? He got a lead part in a new series and is therefore leaving Merlin. I just really hope they don't kill him - i'd prefer he got banished opposed to being killed.

I'm finding the Arwen moments this series mildly hilarious, since Arthur and Gwen seem to have no chemistry at all since they got married. He never seems to look at her when they talk, he's always staring off thoughtfully in another direction. I'd have a hard time believing they were brother and sister, let alone married.
Merlin and Arthur, on the other hand, have shared some absolutely wonderful looks and glances this series.
Last night's episode upset me mightily though. I can't say more because of writing down spoilers, but I should imagine you can guess which bit I mean. I just watched that, (the acting was FANTASTIC mind you, so well done by both Colin and Bradley), and was all WTF?! The writers on this show annoy me SO MUCH.
That is a shame about Gwaine, but it feels as though this may well be the last series anyway. I assume he's in this series until the end? I think they've wasted Gwaine a little. He started off as a really good character and I don't feel he gets many lines that show that anymore.

I'd say it more like a Mother&Son releationship than anything else - though i wish she'd stop with her 'Heaving Breasts' - she should realise by now Arthur takes no notice of them xD
Merlin and Arthur are just brilliant - My sister commented last night that 'The blond one is lying - he loves Merlin and should stop denying it' - to say i was in bit's wasn't the half of it. The 'Deciding scene' made me go all teary, the acting and the script are stunning when it comes to the pairs scenes.
Despite it being slightly obvious, I wasn't fond of the ending or the direction the writers may be taking Merlin - Plus anyone who's read the Legends have a vauge idea of how it will end with Mordred.
Apparently Alexander (Mordred) has mentioned something about a 6th series and it saddens me to know that Gwaine may not get the ending he deserves - I was on edge during last nights episode incase they killed him off quickly - he should have a decent amount of lines before they do anything.

OMG each time I see one of your art, I fall in love more and more with it ! This one gave me shivers, because it's sooooo beautiful, I almost had tears in my eyes (yes that sounds weird but art can make me cry)
