Description
Aaaaaand things get abruptly buck-wild.Don't drink unlabelled potions, kids. Sometimes they make you relive childhood trauma and also reveal that a crazy old gnome is a) your grandfather and b) the reason your whole hometown burned to the ground when you were tiny.

Context notes:
"The wizard", to us the players, needed no introduction, description alone did the trick. Earlier in the game, we'd encountered an exceedingly memorable gnomish wizard by the name of Gandalf - old, lecherous, and mad as a box of rocks. (Oh, and he's our Ranger's ex-boyfriend. Long story short: she's got a thing about height differences.)
He was more lucid back when Tsalta knew him, and when asked, Gandalf disclosed that he lost his mind in a deal with a man called Terry Tibbs, though he couldn't recall what the deal was. We'd dealt with Terry before - he's an unpleasant, covetous man, fond of forging unbreakable arcane contracts that come with hefty prices for not delivering on the bargain.
The guy seemed perfectly benign, save for his love of throwing goblins at high speed from the top of his tower - content to spend his days smoking halfling pipeweed and reading his 'literature'. (Okay, so he used to go scream at Terry all hours of the day and night and cause a ruckus in town, but to be fair to him, that turned out to be because Terry'd built his housetent on top of his beloved dog's grave.)
Tsalta, too, remembered him as pleasant enough in demeanor - if...a little over-eager, if you get my drift.
He...did not seem like the kind of guy who would rain fire down on a whole settlement just because his daughter eloped with a deep gnome. Bloody hell, Gandalf.

Thank you!
He ended up called that because we were goofing off in an earlier session. A scene cut to Tsalta finishing one of her rambling stories around the campfire - βAnyway, so thatβs how I ended up in bed with Gandalf!β
The DM scribbled something down in his notes, and...we learned a valuable lesson in what happens when we make off-hand comments at the table, haha.
(And hey, thereβs gotta be more than one Gandalf out there!)
