It's LONG!! fair warning. xD; Took me quite a few hours to complete. Another project I just got wound up in and had to complete. Now I can move on to other things easier. xD;
I hope it's helpful, never done a tutorial before... oO;

edit: xD;; I was informed the sizing was wrong before for the hand. I realized my mistake, the hand was held too high. It's fixed now... sorry about that!!!

*Pulls out hair* Argh! I suck so badly at drawing hands... your tutorial helped so much! There is just something about them that i can't grasp... (no pun intended?) I've been trying for years, it just doesn't compute. (there is like, ONE drawing of mine (not posted) that I conquered a some-what-dynamic hand...)
I was looking at the other tutorials, and some of them are terribly out of proportion. yours are very pleasing to the eye, and look correct.
Seems like you either are good and fantastic starting out drawing hands, or it is a laborious process...><

It's not that laborous, really.. it just takes practice as hands are one part of the human body that can either look great, or make the rest of the picture look bad. Funny how hands do that... lol.

I actually agree and notice that more with the ring finger and the middle finger. They do touch more often than any other fingers and I seem to draw my hands like that a lot.

I was looking at my had the other night in silhouette of the window, and I remembered that a lot of people's fingers curve, just slightly. If you look at the middle finger, it probably curves a little towards the middle of your hand, towards the ring and the ring curves the other way. Fingers are not completely straight, it's kinda weird like that. xB;

Yeah I've noticed that as well. It just looks strange if you draw them super straight. My middle finger curves slightly to the left and the rest go they're own different way. So yeah, you draw beautiful hands. :3

ok, I understand most of it...I think, its just I've seen artists doing hands, but they don't sketch the outlines first, is it alright if I didn't or should I?

If you already know the fundamentals of hands and are good at drawing them w/out sketching them first, then go for it. However, most artists have to learn the basis first before they feel confident enough to draw w/out the basic 'skeletal' type sketching underneath. I don't use this method anymore either, because I understand the hand enough not to need it. If you don't know how to draw the hand to make it look real and not too round and 'blob' like, I would use these techniques to learn the structure better, that way when you're ready, you can draw a hand that looks like a hand.
