UPDATE: I reuploaded the file, which removed the preview image. You should be able to enlarge the file now w/out needing to download. If you still have issues, just download it, it should work.Thx.

It's LONG!! fair warning. xD; Took me quite a few hours to complete. Another project I just got wound up in and had to complete. Now I can move on to other things easier. xD;
I hope it's helpful, never done a tutorial before... oO;
So, uh, yeah. Enjoy. And don't crit the work done, if you have a comment about content, that's fine (like something you wish I'd put in for instance) but to critique the actual tutorial I would rather you didn't. Thanks!

edit: xD;; I was informed the sizing was wrong before for the hand. I realized my mistake, the hand was held too high. It's fixed now... sorry about that!!!

well, this is my first time looking for a hand tutorial. i was thinking since i suck at hands, i should try one out XD so in the perspective, when you go forward, is the circle your palm? oh, and my hand is weird in that my index finger is almost as large as my middle finger and my ring finger stops at the first joint of the middle finger...oh well, just have to imagine i guess XD thanks, i will actually try your technique out (since i have no technique...) and see how it works out. hehe, it seems to be really helpful

All hands are different indeed. This is just a basic start for drawing a hand. And yes, the circle is the palm.

You mean the preview image? Yeah, that was awhile back, when dA was cool and allowed you to upload a preview image if you wanted to. I think you still can get a preview image option, if it's a GIF image, but I'm not positive. I don't upload GIFs though, cuz I find them to be lower quality.
But that's how I have that, is that it allowed me to put on a preview image first, which I'm glad for at the time. But now, it sux I can't still do so.

I tested it, it's only an option if you upload a GIF image. Otherwise, it's not an option for JPEG or PNG. Rather sux, but there you go.
