Description
A gray werewolf drags his prey away from opportunistic rivals...THIS is the first piece I have completed in well.....well over a year! And this is also the piece that spring boarded me back into an artistic mindset these past few months.
I am very proud of it.

Nice piece! This time you got the whole moon-light silhouette/ back-light thing right. Might want to consider adding some soft glow to the moon, and perhaps even to some of the wolf's fur, to further improve the atmosphere and realism.

Already, I'm loving the new gallery! You seem to already have a nice new style going on, but maybe I just haven't seen your stuff in a really long time so it looks shiny and new. The coloring and composition is great! However, the werewolf's pose looks a bit awkward, especially the left (his left) hand.

The deer looks especially stellar, its face is great. Love the tapetum lucidium on the werewolf too! His nose is great.
As for the subject matter you prefer, do it! Your passion for lycanthropes shows in your artwork of them and it's great.

Oh my lordy, I am honored to get the first comment on this. Seeing as I saw this piece in lineart-only form, well, I'm glad you managed to make a beautiful background decision with it. Subtle and just the right colors. You already know much I love the lines, but I'll say it again: they're wonderful!
That deer looks really great in particular. The blues in the fur are lovely. I'd say you tackled the nighttime theme pretty well. The blood is well done.
More important than this piece, though, I am SO glad to have you back. I definitely regard your werewolf work as some of my favorite, so that dry spell you had really stunk, probably for both of us! Just remember that no matter what you do or no matter what anyone tells you otherwise, keep drawing what YOU want to draw. Fans will follow. Art should be for you if you want to be anyway.
