Well before I had this as Captain America as Iron Man, as it turns out however he is actually called Iron Patriot and is neither Captain America or Iron Man. I have changed the name to reflect this, thanks for the info guys.Iron Patriot, Captain America, and Iron Man are the rights of Marvel

Actually, the America coloured Iron Man suit is worn by Norman Osborn. Osborn was somehow put in charge of S.H.E.I.L.D which he changed to H.A.M.M.E.R. Then he formed a new Avengers team where he was the new Iron Man, but he decided that the symbolism of Captain Americas costume colours were important, so he changed the colour scheme and named himself Iron Patriot.

I was going to say isn't it the other way around after Captain America's death Tony Stark changed his red and gold outfit to red, white, and blue in memory of Steve Rogers.

yes they did, although I don't really know about the war machine suit, this is supposed to be one of Iron Man's Armors reapinted after his death and Captain America wearing it as a symbol of Iron Man

to be completely honest I don't know some of these things I am finding out about through my roomate and have been to busy with school and editing the images, etc to find out more about it

The idea mainly came about from the Marvel Civil War comic 'What If?'
What if Tony Stark died from the Extremis injection instead and so in memory of him Captain America took the mantle of donning Iron Man's armor to fight against the Superhuman registration act.
I highly recommend getting that book if you like what if scenarios and such and what could have happened if it wen the other way.
