Description Hey guys! You bored? Want to do something to change it as a artist? Then learn something from me due to my ex-employer taking my freedom from using a DS during my breaks with the

Boredom Scroll!

Though, seriously, that changed my breaks completely. I really liked seeing what the time was on my ds so I could be sure I would get back to work on time. Oh well, I'm done with that job!

It's amazing what I doodled and drawn in there, such as: new characters, pictures of Tom Waits in his several devil outfits(Mr. Nick, I don't want to grow up), Hipster Ariel( ), Blandachu... A lot of stuff.

Thank you ex-employer! With the motion paper roll tubes and many sheets with it, it made me feel like I was creating a pitiful history with fun.

Due to buying a miniature pose doll, I got to stuff it in my boredom scroll's inner tube and later drew a eye on it's face and hands.

Man, I'm such a man-child(*cough*likesethrogan*cough*).

Before anyone corrects me, yes, I realize that's "cap" spell badly. I was going to turn in the original file in until I notice paintdotnet save the first png file badly, so I had to recover the pdn file from my trash folder to re-save it as a png. This happened before with a previous tutorial I wanted to show, that one didn't end up in my gallery for this reason.

Thanks for the recent favorites. As for this, make sure the paper is one-ply, otherwise the softness will dull your drawings.

Thanks and don't worry about it, I also have a "boredom notebook" too.

Since I hate empty paper, I had to fill one of my empty sketchbooks with a bunch of art.

Thats a great idea. You have good handwriting.

Thanks. If it weren't for my supervisor telling me to stop playing my DSI during my breaks, this might have not happened. Though it still might have happened...

I tend to write small when I use line paper. My teachers in high school scolded me for writing too small.

No problem.

Thats what I do also! My math teacher yells at me for writing to small on the board.

It's mostly due to me having a line to write on that it's different. When I write without a line to pace my writing, it's a whole different story.

Thanks, it really is like a scroll sketchbook in my case. Have you seen my first entry of the Boredom Scroll? Check it out if your curious what I draw in it.

I knew you'd like it when you told me last week you were having a artist block.

Heh! I drew Gerard Butler in a combination of his king Lionidas and Eric outfits with him saying "This! is! Opera!" and a picture of Al Picino as Jack Kevorkian in my boredom scroll today.

I don't really have an artist block anymore. I have a lack of time, which is different.

Too much awesome can be deadly!

I know, it means I have deadly advantage.

Oh, well, Maybe you should take a board to bed, and draw a little bit on a piece of paper every night? That'll give you a chance to hone your abilities while enjoying your talent. You could even make a drawn journal and draw what you did that day.

That's an idea. A drawn journal...

When you're at your bedroom just before you go to sleep, that'll give you freedom to account the days events without being distracted.

How ironic! I'm actually working on a sketch dump with a similar idea. But a real scroll would be a good exercise to doodle on.

Yes, and you'll feel like you're creating history like a historical figure by doing so!

That's the feeling I have for my sketch books. I've had them for over ten years and looking over them brings back so many memories.

Same here, it's very nostalgic to do so, bringing memories like a nice wine.

This is still a brilliant idea for those who aren't able to purchase a real scroll though. I might try this out. Finding the consistency to draw is no easy thing. :]

auxeru In reply to Le-senpai [2011-04-19 07:48:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I meant to say "paper roll" In a way, a roll is more handy than a book since there's no break in the pages. I'm getting excited just thinking about it!

Zage56 [2011-04-19 05:59:42 +0000 UTC]

That looks like a fun idea! Have you created many of these scrolls?

Ohthehumanityplz In reply to Zage56 [2011-04-19 23:25:27 +0000 UTC]

Just one, but I took a second motion roll that was about to be thrown away by my supervisor for future use.
