the original design development was aimed at developing a ship that was able to successfully fight a single Ha'tak, and that in a formation of a maximum of 4 ships

The expectations for the destroyers were not completely fulfilled at the beginning, the price/construction time ratio between the Daedalus-Class and the Vaselov-Class is at best 1:4, and the armament was initially too weak, but after some improvements, formations of 3 destroyers could fight a Ha'tak

nevertheless, in the first decades of the Tau'ri on the interstellar stage, the formations from the Daedalus-, Teldy- and Vaselov-Classes successfully repelled several attacks, especially those of the Lucian Alliance at that time

three and a half centuries later, the Vaselov-Class is still an extremely successful design, even if the hull design is the only thing that the first ships of this class and the modern representatives of this class of ships still have in common

tt the USOC, the destroyers are primarily used as long-range patrol ships (peacetime), as well as support for cruiser and battleships (battle formation), while for the Marine Corps, in addition to the Pah'Mont-Class battleship-carrier-hybrids, they are the standard warships

In the defense forces of the individual solar systems, the SDFs, these destroyers, next to the Rya'C-Class, are the largest and most heavily armed ships

they are also used by the SDFs for long-range patrols, but in the event of a defense they are, alongside the stationary defense facilities, the most important defense of their home worlds

They are also always the flagships of the respective SDFs, the so-called command destroyer is more lightly armed, but has better sensors, computers and communication systems

overall, there are currently three different versions of the Vaselov-Class: the heavy destroyer with missile silos and stronger shields (seen here), used only by the USOC, the standard destroyer used by USOC and SDFs, and the command destroyer used only by various SDFs weaker armament but additional communication and analysis capacities

As announced, I have also changed the size of the Vaselov class. I also took the opportunity to do a small revision of the design.
The armament has stayed more or less the same as I was planning to reduce the armament of the Union ships anyway as they had too much firepower.
From now on I will follow the Daedalus design of the series on all Union ships, with the exception of the Teldy-Class.
That means the capital ships have no weapons on the underside.
To compensate for this, the heavy destroyer version of this class is now on the one hand equipped with a very heavy staff cannon, caliber 1400 mm, and on the other hand IM-D-FW interplanetary missiles can now be used in the missile silos that were previously reserved for cruisers and battleships.
The standard version also has the heavy three-cannon turret and instead of the silos two more 900 mm turrets.
The flagship version, however, loses all heavy cannons, the heaviest weapons are the 300 mm staff cannon. For this, it is equipped with external alplative armor, which gives this version stronger defensive capacities and allows the technical department to be relocated to the "wings" so that the main hull is free for the flag officers and the command room.
