Description This is a Proto 1000 GP7, originally lettered for the Pennsylvania Railroad and re-lettered for someone else's model railroad. This unit is one in which the long hood is considered the front (easily identifiable by the small capital F in the frame sill). Proto was a higher-end division of Life-Like and were considered some of the best models of their day, made from 1989 to 2006, when Proto was taken over by Walthers and Bachmann.
