I remember that show, and remember comparing it to the uS show that was on about about the same time: The Invaders.
The aliens from UFO were more open (and yet still almost no one knew about them) and flashy. Yet I always thought their sporadic raids were almost pointless and more akin to a rodent infestation whereas The Invaders posed a real threat to Humanity's existence (especially as we had only David Vincent to fight them for us) and seemed to have a definite set of plans for our conquest in motion; even though it was more of a drama than an action series.
Might have been nice to see a crossover where the two invading races square off against each other for who gets to take over earth.

You're right on the threat level posed by The Invaders, though the idea of people being abducted for spare parts in UFO wasn't much of a pleasant prospect.
Both alien groups did a pretty piss poor job of fostering positive interstellar relations, didn't they?

Yes, but of course they weren't the only ones or even the worse. They were just the beginning. I was especially fond of the original 'V' miniseries; though the subsequent series was nowhere near as good.

Quite so. Too bad we haven't learned that lesson very well. If we had, we'd have had better candidates to run for president than either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton... and we wouldn't be having to deal with the arrogant, dopey bastard in office now.
