Illustrations I worked on last month. It's a short story by Chekhov about a boy brought to a provincial hospital. We were supposed to choose any story, and after doing a bunch of pretty default Chekhov themes I stumbled on this story and felt it was something I wanted to do.Kinda learned a lot during this assignment, though some of this knowledge isn't exactly applicable.

I started reading Chekhov's works last month - he wrote the kind of stories that I was looking for and he's a physician on top of being a writer.

You might want to try Bulgakov next then - he's one of my top favourite writer, AND he also was a physician AND Chekhov was HIS favourite writer!

He is supposed to! X) He's a kind of intelligent doctor who realizes how rotten things are around and he's trying his best but can't do enough... it's kind of bittersweet.
