Description
This was done in winter 2000, I was working at Nelvana at the time. I lived in Hamilton and worked in Toronto, and the commute was about 90km each way!Traffic is terrible in Toronto, and yes i have been many times to NYC and visited Tokyo and Cairo, and Toronto traffic is terrible.
So i would leave to head home at 7 and then it wouldnt be too bad. As a result i had time, so i would draw a bit afterwards to kill time, I coloured this one, but many other 'afterwork sketches' are BW.

man, you're flawless! One more thing, if you want a "better" traffic jam, try Jakarta, Indonesia.

I've always admired your environment designs. The sheer details of this is overwhelming, it gives you a nice feeling lik eyour present in the picture. Ya must have done a lot of sight seeing to capture the realism of a city district.
Do ya use a drawing board when ya do work like this?

this was drawn on a desk in a sketchbook with a cup of coffee and a ruler.
I sketched it out roughly in pencil and then used a tech pen, other than that, no special utensils at all.

Not any of the perspectives are flawed or off point and you accomplished that with just a ruler!

i love the perspective on this,
it conjours up images of batman and gotham city to me,
i'm looking at this and listening to the music of craig armstrong, the 2 seem to go together,
great work
