These guys are from Alm's village, they all decided to follow Alm and join the liberation group. They are all villagers! That means you get to promote them into either a mercenary, soldier, archer, mage, or social knight. And for some reason, the mercenary, after promoting into a swordfighter and then a dark fighter, can loop around and become a villager again. I did not take advantage of that. I made Cliff and Grey into swordfighters and Robin into a social knight, although I only got the first two to the third tier. I was following a walkthrough, so next time I'll mix it up. Cliff would actually make a decent mage (or decent anything really).

I'm getting these three from Fire Emblem: Gaiden all over with at once. Why? They're all largely uninspiring. The majority of their sprites are cut and pasted. Only Cliff shows real personality. It's like Intelligent Systems, in preparation for the second game of their new series, looked through the cast of Ankoku for what could become a recurring archetype;, their eyes passed over Kain and Abel, the red and green knight, and instead settled on Barts, Saji, and Maji. The three copy & pasted ax guys. Did they have to bring all three of them back in the DS remake? Are they distinct persons now?
