Man I wasn't thinking when I drew those pockets was I?

I know this has showed up before in some of my really old sketchbook dumps, that I'd been toying around with the Path of Radiance characters in a Phoenix Wright sort of setting.

Then I spent an indecent amount of time actually thinking about it and sorting out the character roles and plot and timeline.

Then I spent several days reading up anything I could about courtroom procedures and laws and fun stuff.

Then I kinda blah blah blahed about it in the middle of one of my many excessive comments on 's Harriet Project deviants.

So I kinda had to start drawing something.

This is Ike Merck. Although I figure he's 17 in PoR, he's bumped up to 18 so he can be his sister Mist's legal guardian, ah, just in case. And so his age doesn't stretch one's willing suspension of disbelief as much. He just took a lot of college courses... while in school... and rolled around naked in some magical phlebotinum. He was eager to follow in his dad's footsteps!

His father Greil started Merck & Co. Attorneys at Law along with Titania. They specialize in defense and are willing to take cases even if the client can't afford it because they believe in JUSTICE.

(Greil is usually not angry at Ike. That was supposed to be him yelling at the the three for disobeying Titania, but I didn't feel like working out that dialogue. And he doesn't smoke, he pulls that out to enhance his gruff visage. Has anyone noticed that Firefox doesn't like dialogue? The first time I'd seen it spelled otherwise was only a few months ago. Weird.)

That bottom photo is on Greil's desk. It was taken when he and Ike's mum were still dating. And he was totally into that metal band, Urvan. DUDE LET'S HEADBANG.

How does Ike get away with dressing like that I don't know. That's a lie I do know. WHY he dresses like that when Greil always go to court in his nicest suit with cuff links and polished shoes, that we'll never know.
