Description
Near is a detective, now going about trying to solve a murder which is connected to an old case of L's which L himself thought wasn't finished, even though the murderer was tried and convicted.

Years later when the felon is already executed, a hacker broadcasts a message indicating that while guilty, their death played a part in a bigger plot.

Near follows these bread crumbs until he comes to see an elaborate government organization spanning several nations unbeknownst to even the CIA.

He follows further to find out the identity of an Assassin named Red Witch; famous for killing his victims in what look like horrific accidents, like hexing them.

The more puzzle pieces he puts together, and the more moves he makes, the more he realizes that this is again, a fierce game, with a fast moving timer, and it's and it's on him to solve this mystery that L trusted to him before passing, yet again.

Commissioner Matsuda, now older and married to Sayu, not wanting her or her family anywhere near this but fearing that danger will come regardless, then Yurika Alinhardt the Häschen. She's a hacker who's evaded Interpol, CIA, Assassins, even Near who discovers that she was nearly caught by L, but L let her go after telling him something.

The body of Moira O'kersh, a cop and undercover agent. Red Witch himself, smoking a cigar, a corpse which is one of many Near has been finding, leading him to believe that the movement of Kira is not nearly as unorganized as anyone surmised.

And another body and bones of a past victim.
