forgive my ignorance but why would rorschach want to kill light, I mean don't give me wrong he's a mass murderer drunk on power, but isn't he doing what Rorschach wanted killing all the criminals. unless it has to do with all the innocent people that ended up dead when they got in Light's way.

Like Ozmodiaus, this person fancies himself above, or like god. What's more that's what Light is getting off on more than saving people, at least Ozz did this for the betterment of man's own choices. Light's relieving them that choice based on a lie, and we know how black and White Rorschach's standing is on that, even in the face of Armageddon.
Lastly, like you said, the body trail in his way who dare challenge his god hood reeks of that worse than Ozzy's. Cause with Oz, they were getting in the way of piece, and what he'd set in motion. Light is doing this because they're defying him, and will get in his way , of HIM being the on being worshiped, and feared.
For that I believe that Rorschach's impartiality would kick in, and he would beat him to death, or suffocate him with the rolled up death note, see Ryuk, think "Figures..."

Forgive me for getting to this so late. Yes, I disliked it, in fact I find a good deal of the book while ideological and well meaning in that, is a story that REALLY insists upon itself, if that makes sense.
The decisions the characters make, why they make them, it's all point proving and nothing more. Rorschach and perhaps Nite Owl even are the only real consistent characters who aren't pretentious and see the right thing to do as the right thing to do.
The ending was very anti-climatic to answer your question yes.
