Description So I'm a faction of a group who believe that Moeka is actually Sazuha's future mother.

I realize that in the OVA they allude to her mother being at a diner in America, but how awkwardly weird/gross is that for him to hit on a woman who's identical to his daughter?

This being said, we're more inclined to go with the theory that its with the redeemed Moeka who not only fits his ironic specifications, but who he seems to be helping adjust to being comfortable around people, so its cute :3

Anyway, thats my preamble to this.

Not likely, at all. Especially since Moeka either dies or kills herself and most timelines

yeah i know its a bit late xD but in the steins gate world line time machines are never invented so daru never meets his daughter, even if you include the movie when the time machine is invented to save okabe, suzuha doesnt meet daru, (plus the fact we see a photo of her and see Kyruu at the store. it was a cool theory before the ova/movie/mangas

Sorry, friend, but in the film, they refer to Suzuha's mother by name, Amane. Same woman who was in the diner. Considering that each world line is seperate, there is an equal number of world lines where Suzuha doesn't appear in the past as there are those where she does, because her mere presense will change the past, so it would make sense that Daru knows not of Suzuha when he meets her mother. So, Kyruu Moeka is not Amane Suzuha's mother. For all we know, Suzuha may not even be born in the Steins Gate world line.

Interesting theory, and honest I wish there was some more content to flesh it out just because it creates a fantastic circle of irony.

On another note, seriously? Everybody and their mother feels the need to say "The OVA said this isn't true...." Yes, I know. Everyone who's seen the anime knows. It's still a funny thing if you think about it. xDΒ

What if he meets her later in life though, she's the woman he meets in the restaurant? He is prone to perverted behavior, so perhaps that was subsided by the familiarity of her. He was distracted by how familiar she seemed, the thought of being perverted hadn't crossed his mind, so he came to meet her.Β

In the Steins;Gate World line, Daru doesn't know who Amane Suzuha is as the Phone Microwave (Temp)'s function of time travelling was not activated. And also in this world line, it has been decided that Amane Yuki will be her mother, and this is a fact that will never change because the world has decided it, just like Mayuri's death in the Alpha Attractor Field.

Once again, i'm aware of the "OVA"'s explanation as to who her mother is.

HOWEVER, I'm in the camp that believes it to be weird let alone creepy that Daru would be all "Oh wow...you look just like my daughter, I want you bad."

in steins;gate, it's more of a time-travel paradox and the grandfather paradox and the bootstrap paradox and the time machine H G Wells style paradox

Umm Suzuha's mother is Amane Yuki, yes, it is confirmed in a spin off manga and a small reference in the VN. Amane Yuki is mayushi's friend and a fellow cosplayer, daru meets her in an anime convention. Go google search if you dont believe me.

As i said in the description, I know all of this, however I'm inclined to go with this theory more, as i find it creepy Daru would be like "You look just like my daughter...let's make this happen."

LuLu-Bubbles [2013-11-20 18:33:27 +0000 UTC]

I never thought of that.... ._____. Would be so weird if she was!

But did Daru (at the end of the series, when everyone was finally on the 'right' timeline) know Suzuha was his daughter...? If not, then I guess it wouldn't make a difference xD Because he'd have no idea he'd have a daughter like her?

But if he did then I could picture him seeing her, thinking it was Suzuha and being totally mind fucked, then waltzing up like 'uh, suzuha???'

Then you could see why these two would start a convo :'3 And then they could just fall for each other x'D still would be a little weird...Β

fyulita [2013-11-09 01:22:08 +0000 UTC]

First, you have to remember that Daru is desperate for a woman.
Second, why didn'tΒ  Suzuha know this? She knew who her mother was, so why did she treat her like that and/or didn't say anything about that. She instead kept it a secret as if it was cute or something.
Third, why would Daru have sex with someone that tried to kill him and his friends? He was desperate, but really? That desperate?
Fourth, why would the director of the anime even bothered to make so many hints towards the fact that the girl on that OVA is Daru's future wife? And also, she was even more similar to Suzuha than Moeka. The fact that Suzuha looked like that girl is because she was her mother, and that's why Daru would be with her. I could say the same as: "I will never have kids, because that would mean that I had sex with someone that looks like my future kid, and that's gross!"

I just have trouble believing that Moeka is Suzuha's mother, so I'm just too skeptical. It's a fine theory though!

Omnipotrent In reply to fyulita [2013-11-09 02:42:22 +0000 UTC]

Well to be frank I'm in the club of people who find it weird that Daru would bang a girl who looks just like his daughter. Β  And the OVA sort of..undid the complete feeling that the episode right before it gave as an ending.

That being said, yes Daru knew that Moeka was going to kill his friends...in that time/reality, in the one where they help each other, he knows she's a threat and that Okerine has to stop her and get her to help them, but that's it.

It's not a theory i will fight to the death is cannon, but one that i preferΒ

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

fyulita In reply to Omnipotrent [2013-11-09 13:56:21 +0000 UTC]

True, but remember that Okabe would always tell them the same things that were going to happen and that happened before, especially to Kurisu because he knew she would help her, but Daru also knew. Also, they remembered some things through their dreams, so Daru should have dream about how Moeka killed his friends several times. I dont get to understand the part that he wouldnt bang someone that looks like his daughter, that's the whole point, they are alike because they are relatives in the future, and probably Daru and that girl had the same interests and stuff. And sorry but my english isn't very good so I didn't understand what you said in the first paragraph

BTW, I just made some research and watched the OVA again and the girl that appears on the OVA is supposed to be Yuki Amane. She appeared in the Visual Novel and is a cosplay girl that was in USA in the OVA to play Rai Net, just like in the visual novel.
Also, her last name is the same as Suzuha's lastname throughout the entire series before she knew that Daru was her father, Suzuha Amane.
Also, in another one of the visual novels, in Steins;Gate Hiyokurenri no Da-rin, Daru is seen proposing marriage to Amane Yuki, his future wife, and mother of Suzuha.
Also, in the manga Steins;Gate Boukan no Rebellion, Amane Yuki appears as Daru's wife and mother of Suzuha.
Lastly, there's a card game called Choas were Daru and Amane Yuki appear as a couple.
