Description
This is the first of a series I will be doing called RWBY One Shots, where I will be writing pieces and short stories based off artwork I see that inspires.This one is from renowned artist, and visionary conceptual artist, Dishwasher , who if you want a real treat, should look up more of their artwork, it's mind blowing and original.
This piece depicts the first chance meeting of Roman Torchwick, and his eventual protege and confidant: Neo Politan, before that was even her name.

I nicknamed one of my friends Neo since she has eyes of different colors and is petite.
She asked me why I gave her that nickname and I told her to watch the show to get it. It's her favourite show now.

I love Roman. I've always wondered if his rant about the real world and the futility of Huntsmen was fueled by memories of a younger idealistic version of himself.

I hope we learn more about Neo and Roman's relationship. And if Adam's volume 6 trailer is any indication, the antagonists are going to get some character development.

RoosterTeeth's handling of Roman and Neo followed by what happened with the Villains introduced from Season 4 onwards turned me off RWBY.
They keep trying to drag things out and then they either kill them off without answering any questions (Roman, Neo, Lionheart, etc.), end anticlimactically (The White Fang), or just keep dragging them out (EVERYONE ELSE.). Game of Thrones gives villains introduced with only a few minutes of screentime more than Roosterteeth has done with villains with multiple seasons worth of screentime.
At this point I'd give any fanfic that made it so Season 3 didn't kill off Roman Torchwick more credit going into it than I do Roosterteeth now.
So thanks for this flashback, I really needed this.
