Description This is a first draft of a still in progress coloring job of a picture in which Talia is walking through the abandoned halls of Gotham PD, to find Ellen Yin.

"Come on out...detective..." Talia spat. "Show some honor."

"What honor is there in shooting your opponent in the back?" Yin replied rolling to another desk.

"I'm a soldier, the conditions of war dictate." Talia said training her gun from dark corner to dark corner.

"This is a city, not a warzone!" Yin said, before checking her magazine to see it was empty, Damn it!

Suddenly she heard Talia's blade scrape against the desks as she walked by them, she had guessed that she was out.

Talia went on, "This city is no city at all...it's a slum, a killer...it's a serial killer with the guise of a smiling...public opinion approving face in a nice suit. It allows it's monsters free every so often cause of it's own over confidence and incompetence only for ONE man and his ill-equipped children to deal with by the skin of their teeth who don't have the spine to do what will solve the problem completely."

Yin bit her lip and silently rolled to another end of the office, "You have no right to talk about what he's done for the good of this city, or the world while your organization's done what to preserve the good in the world!"

Talia trained her gun's laser a moment to late to where Yin was. "Oh and you think he would've chosen you? You thought yourself good enough to be his "helper" on his little crusade to do some good? This bygone of a man is your last shot of redemption?"

Yin bit her lip, now she was trying to get in HER skin.

"He's a fool." Talia went on, "Extraordinary as he is and what he's done without our society's help he is still a fool...and he's a fool for seeing something in you...but don't worry, when he is put into the Lazarus pit, and his mind is baptized along with his body...with new mental recognition and capacities...his eyes too will be opened to how things really are...and YOU will not be the woman he has at his side when he does something about it..."

Thank you! The idea is that Ras Al Ghul who's lived a long time, has seen visions of demise that is to come and what it will take to lead humanity out of it.

It's a very destiny vs. choice story.

I call it: "The Third Future"

Clock King steals a means of seeing into the future from a museum, it's a three statue'd monolith , or as Robin calls it, a weird bird bath, stolen from a King that was said to have been based off of King MacBeth himself out of Scotland...each statue of an old woman predicts a different future, it's a roulette table of fate.

When Batman comes to stop him, he uses it too hastily, and as a result, sees a different future, too far ahead.

Clock King sees a future where the world is burning in fire and blood, an apocalypse.   In another a prosperous world...but one in the iron fist of a King, a king that resembles Bruce Wayne but older.   A world of Order.  A world where Gotham was destroyed and rebuilt anew.

He goes catatonic from it not using it properly....and the third statue is damaged.

The police confiscate the item , and Batman wonders if it's morally right to use the device to see what the League of Shadows is planning in Gotham, since they're returning, and he knows what they're capable of.

Ellen Yin gets a new partner from Metropolis, one who is friendly and charming and she's recently been questioning her feelings for Batman...they aren't the mere feelings for a partner, they're something more....and she can't realistically pursue those.   There is Bruce Wayne of course, but retiring her badge?  Yes they both share a similar loss in Ethan Bennett as Clayface, who they both visit regularly in his new prison in black gate...and yes...he's charming and is an actual genuine good person but....her world? Her dark job with freaks and monsters and danger? She couldn't put Bruce through that.   So , this new Partner "Tommy"  seems appealing.

As for Bruce, he has similar questions about letting Ellen in.  This is different then Catwoman, she's not a selfish thrill seeker, different than Vicky Vale...she's not so delicate that his world would destroy her utterly, she's the strongest and most driven woman he knows, and the scare he had with almost losing her to Joker was the most frightened he'd ever been.

He cannot think about that now though, his company has worked on devices that can transfer thoughts and memories from one person to another, and the League he is certain has stolen some of this.

Ras Al Ghul denies this, and while Batman's never KNOWN him to lie...he won't rule it out.

The League does however manage to get Clock King's ramblings from his hospital bed , and realize that the chance at an ideal world is possible and within reach...they must do what they can to secure it, if they do not , it could mean the first vision could come true.

Ras steals the item and uses it to see more based off of it to see if he can find a denominator that's consistent, since things were set in motion, the two previous visions are more clear, and more even more likely.  The third is still an enigma.

In one the apocalypse is clear as to why and how it happened, Batman loses, ultimately fails, and falls , and Gotham is lost, and becomes one of the ground zero's for a wave of chaos and depravity and evil that encompasses the earth....it's something the League has been calling for years, but here's the proof.

The Batman: Bruce isn't the man you think he is

As Talia looks in the second future she sees that not only is Bruce Wayne Ruling the City, standing in front of a statue of her father, but has a son Damien is his name who is to succeed Bruce as an heir...and it's THEIR son, she is there with him.

Talia has always believed , and makes evident throughout the story she is destined to be with Bruce, and he is destined to lead the league of Shadows....it was chosen for him as it was chosen for her, which was one of the reasons he left Nandar Parbat.

She has always been jealous that Batman loved Gotham more than he loved her, and now knowing the existence of Ellen Yin, wants her dead.

When the vision happens, she believes it is fate, and that's all the licence she needs to "cut Yin out of the picture."

As we get more into Yin and Bruce's relationship we also explore Yin's past in this story.

Like how she was in a crime ridden area of Metropolis, before the Superman came about, and before Lex Luthor made it the high tech city of the world second only to Gotham , and with that money made it safer.

She had to be hard on the streets her self with how crime ridden it was, and allot of people were basically "vigilante's" themselves, due to cops not doing anything about it... except for her father, who was always on the straight and narrow and would never bend for a badge or a buck like other ones did.

She looked up to him, up to the when he finally died in the line of duty....and not even by criminals, but by neighborhood people trying to fight back against the mobs, and consequently the bad cops in their pocket.  It was an accident, but it still resonated with Yin.

So she had to toughen up as a girl, to make sure there would never again be a need for vigilantism, she got top grades in her class, black belted her martial arts ring, became first and youngest in her police academy class , and played a big part in cleaning up her area of Metropolis , and right before Lexcorp started to clean up the city as a whole.

But she was still full of unrest and came to Gotham because there was more of a fight in her...

(allot of this is pulled from her ACTUAL bio btw, the rest i'm improvising)

...and met and befriended Ethan, and after that Bruce, and losing Ethan...clicked to her that maybe the world doesn't always play by your rules and sometimes you need to be unconventional if it's for the right reason, giving her the reason to trust someone like the Batman, and not blame him for the loss in her life.

All the same...her father was a victim of a crossfire, hectic world at war, created by the organized crime, that is still too big for even Batman and other Super heroes to put down, so when the League's vocation is presented, that aspect of it tempts her, but it's also what makes her even more certain they shouldn't be allowed to win...it's a step to far.

Now enter Thomas Elliot, aka the HUSH, who is basically what Bane was in the Dark Knight Rises, but rather than as a Brute primarily, as a spy, calling himself Hush for how silently and seamlessly he works, who takes on multiple identity's for the League's cause, and was their top agent...before Bruce came along.

Like the original character he's insanely jealous and ever ambitious to steal and ruin Bruce's life, and orchestrates for Yin to learn Batman's true identity and that he was the top operative of the League, making her question whether to bring him in, or expose him so as to expose the league.

What she finds out later however, after being captured and nearly killed by Talia is that Bruce is the enemy of the League, he's in exile, a black sheep, he took what they taught him and made a mockery of it by becoming a vigilante called the Batman instead of an Assassin, and merely patched holes in the wall...the same holes that become large ones that lead to needless deaths, like the death of her father...revealing to her that she has read up on Yin.

Her father has....required her, to at LEAST ask her to join them as a policeman in their ranks would help their take over even more so.

Yin of course refuses , seeing them for the monsters that they are and what they intend to do to Bruce to Brain wash him into the "perfect King."  She has to save him.

She also discovers that HUSH was the one who stole the mind-tech from Wayne Corp....was TOMMY, who has been masquerading as her transfer and eventual replacement partner from Metropolis all along.   His claim to being from her home town was obviously a lie so that she would feel more relaxed and off guard around him....but it wasn't to get close to or seduce her, it was to get at Bruce...while trying hurt and discredit him and the Batman, not destroy him...at least yet...which meant this was personal and he hated him.

She eventually does escape the League due to Clock King's people trying to steal the Monolith back, and busting down their lair where they are keeping her.     It fails of course, but she is able to get free, and do some detective digging on Tommy, the illusive HUSH.

The Batman: The Bat vs. The Hush

Unlike Batman, when Thomas Elliot's unloving parents died, he was thrilled, he was always greedy and ambitious, and hated the world as much as he hated his "Cruel" parents, and wanted what was coming to him.    This man who had so much power and potential at his finger tips, wasted it all by being "Content?" "Stagnant?"  He could take over the world, but instead, settles for being a blip in history, and rejects the ability to smite   wrong doers like a King? It disgusted HUSH (Thomas Elliot), who became insanely jealous and resentful of him for this and for upstaging him as a top League student....and even winning the heart of the Master's daughter.  It wasn't even that he loved Talia, he just hated how Bruce could woo her without meaning to or trying.

So now he is dedicated to ruining his life, and the actual thief of the Wayne Tech memory transfer devices, and plans in secret to use these to assume the identity of Bruce Wayne and take  his place once he is brainwashed and made the League's leader.

It is just a simple matter of poisoning Ras with his own Lazarus pit after that.   He will have literally, it all.

So now, with Winter coming, the League Plunges Gotham into Chaos so as to give reason to destroy it, Batman is caught, imprisoned and due to have everything that is him, along with the tragedy of his parents erased and be replaced with the new glorious purpose of the League in exchange for Ellen's life and and the life of his sidekicks and Butler.

Yin, now knowing what Bruce is, what he went through since being a child, what he endured, what he had to become, and chose to become....she REFUSES let that happen to him, and at that point in the story has also fallen for him.

So Yin battles over Bruce's soul and heart with Talia, while Batman battles HUSH for Gotham, and Alfred and Robin and Batgirl try to put together the remaining pieces of the Monolith before the eclipse.

When the Bat family put the pieces of the third statue together and are able to see the third vision, and in doing so...reveal that the first one , where the world is an apocalypse...is BECAUSE the League wins, not because it doesn't, the chaos they cause in trying to take over is too much for even them to quell.

Further it's because of meddling from within, someone in their organization cannot be trusted.   And the second vision? Ras is dead due tot he same treachery, hence the statue of him.

They end up saving Ras Al Ghul from drowning in his own poisoned pit by HUSH, and Batman exposes HUSH's scheme after beating him in a close fight on the roof of Gotham's Justice Hall, refusing to kill even him.

Ellen Yin defeats Talia, forcing her to fall off of a ledge to the streets bellow after a bloody and narrow fight.

HUSH is taken away to be "dealt with" by the league and all is known about it is that "Death would be too kind for him."

Talia is put in the pit and rescued from the point of death, but it is her who is then brainwashed by the pit, and reborn anew, and doesn't remember Bruce, except for vaguely.

As thanks for preventing the end of the world and the end of the League, and all due to Batman's "Useless, and Foolish rules" , Ras repays them by leaving Gotham alone...until it becomes TOO depraved for them to sit tight.  And Ras's word on the matter is binding, no one will molest Gotham from his org, so long as Batman and his "family" keeps the city safe.....as a challenge and initiative for him.

Batman promises to do so.

Ellen Yin ends up kissing Batman after the meeting is over calling him Bruce.

When we fast forward to
The BATMAN: Wayne family photo

They have a son...named Terry...i was thinking.

He goes on to protect Gotham as Batman Beyond in the new future.

The one Alfred saw as one of the three who put the statue back together with Robin and Batgirl, he kept that part to himself, but he saw the alternate fate, the good future, or as he called it

"The Third Future."

I do, though I have to ask: How does this affect that one episode where Dr. Freeze was frozen and then released 1000 years later, prompting archeologists to find the Bat-Cave. Would this be considered an alternate reality from that future?

Yeah basically that would be an alternate reality as in this one, him and Yin are together.

She's still commissioner though.

I do things with Freeeze as well

Well now! I definitely like this piece! Nice job, incorporating Talia into the TB-verse art style.

Now, I must say...I've never really shipped BatYin, but your little drabble here and this piece not to mention my own endless hatred of Talia is really prompting me to start gunning for Yin and Bats in this instance.

Nice work with the writing as well. Definitely meets with my approval! X3

I can't really say I'm all that fond of TB Joker for the most part, partially because I feel like the writing for him felt like they were trying too hard at times with his humor, and partially just because of the sheer amount of rabid fangirls that version of him has. 8[ The take on Penguin was pretty awesome though, what with some throwbacks to both Danny DeVito's AND Burgess Meredith's "Penguin" roles, AND making him both clever and giving him a physical advantage of knowing kung fu. THAT was pretty creative and inspiring!

Well let me put it this way, I love starwars, and when I heard that the Joker in my favorite batman was in fact Luke Skywalker, I loved the character even more.  He was just the perfect person to give Joker the voice he needed to be menacing and funny in perfect merriment, so much so you didn't see the transition.

He wasn't a good joker, his WAS the Joker, it's how i heard his voice in my mind, how i heard it when i read comics, it was perfection.

Then this...Jackie Chan show animated...styled..NEW batman comes out, in which Bane looks like a red Hulk, and Joker has...well, dreads.

So naturally I'm like...eh....what the heck? But I was curious because the first episode i saw of Joker was when he was taking on Clayface and some other episodes not in season one, so i didn't see him where he was so crazy and bizzar he almost didn't make sense, something I fault the writers with purely for not knowing what to do with him at the time.

But his humor and his comedy, wasn't trying to be like TAS, and i'm glad of it, i'm glad they tried something new with him, they got Kevin Michael Richardson to be his voice, and he brought a new sort of jovial yet harsh and dark voice for him, making him almost sound like a...demented court Jester who decided to kill the king and go ape sh**.

He wasn't as professional or clean cut as TAS's Joker but he most definitely was a Joker, a chaos loving, evil and equally matched foe for the batman, even if he didn't look like a circus clown.

He was also a joker that went toe to toe with batman, where as in TAS unless Joker pulled out a knife or fake glove or something, Batman would always beat his brains out.

This Joker was one that could dance with Batman a while, was fit enough to keep up with him, maybe not cause of his rigerous training, but because he was THAT full of energy, as if the toxin he fell in in the factory didn't just mutate his mind but his body, making him this power house of energy and new ideas that didn't know what to do with themselves, and each one of them was destructive.

Oh my gosh yes. John DiMaggio's Joker in "Under The Red Hood" is amazing! I still think his design looks a little too "old," given the lines in his face, and of course, he doesn't have Mark Hamill's laugh...but DiMaggio's Joker is almost perfect. He's actually incredibly close to the Joker of my headcanon, especially because not only do his wisecracks and humor come naturally, but he is also capable of making that smooth transition from a wacky funny guy to a deadly maniac who will kill you in the blink of an eye and remain a showman the entire time.

Hell yes, he was like the merriment of Dark Knight's Joker and the Joker from the Red Hood comic. (Death in the family)

He wasn't a funny guy who was scary, he was a scary frightening dangerous man who was funny, and his funniness wasn't funny, it was how he did it, if you were in the character in the movies shoes, you know you wouldn't be laughing.

Short and sweet, he was a man who would believably beat a 15 year old boy to death, cause he wanted to wound a man, cause he found it hilarious
