The Doctor just stood there now, panting. River stood there as she had the whole time, not scared of him, but scared of what she had seen.The wind was the only sound in the cemetery, no one had heard his cries of rage as he brought the sledge hammer down again, and again on the angel; the thing that had with one touch, stolen what he held most precious.
It had undone all of his love, all of his promises to never let anything happen to them, nearly all of what helped him look at himself in the mirror every day.
It would never rend another life again, but the act still felt futile, empty, like him....

Wow, I would have loved to have seen this on the actual episode... It would make a great part to add to the deleted scenes section once the DVDs all came out. Either way, great work on your part (in terms of the sketch and the artist's comments)
