Description
I've posted this on facebook and I've decided that I should probably post it here too.Using photo references is an excellent practise, because let's face it, if you want to learn how it's done you need to observe first, but sometimes it's also good to draw from memory or your mental creativity. We can increase our artistic independence by forcing ourselves to understand how the body works instead of just following what we see in pictures. There are some people who cannot draw without photo references, because their independent side hasn't been developed enough. Likewise, there are some people who refuse to use references or don't understand how beneficial they can be when drawing. Both situations are undesirable. Artists need to find that happy medium that allows them to improve while retaining their creativity. Referring to real life in pictures and then seeing how well you can create for yourself is enjoying the best of both worlds.
I found a pile of random pose sketches like this from a year ago and I should really start doing it again because it's helped me understand the human body a lot.
I'm not using these so feel free to do whatever you like with them

I used one of your poses as a lineart exercise that turned into a little more than that. Feel free to come to my profile and look. It's my latest upload.

That's very generous. I'm sure this will help me, I'm awful at drawing poses from memory.
Nice contribution!!
