I had to physically force myself to stop working on this strip. Greyscale's rather fun once you get down to it, but hell, I do have another three strips to work on, eh? XDXDSo, for some reason before this, despite being Hale's 'Starter' and main Pokemon verbally speaking, Deedee has sort of been cast aside for guys like Artagnan and Saladin who seem to be stealing the team spotlight left right and center.
Well, this round's given me a chance to work in all Deedee all the time. Here's a small peek into her past, and why this seeming airheaded Flapper girl isn't as airheaded as she seems.
Artagnan will be replacing Saladin as Box Mon with Hale during the tourney, and be acting as Deedee's personal trainer in the coming page.
Since you've had about a week's worth of melodrama and an early onset of diabetes with this strip, the next will be all humor. Or mainly humor anyway, what with a Gallade channeling Miyagi-sensei.

I really enjoyed this trip down memory lane for Deedee, and you're right, Sal and Art were stealing the attention, but come on, How could they not?, these guys are fantastic

Yeah, it isn't often that fun-loving Deedee goes down memory lane, but it's because of this that she usually doesn't want to. Art belittles her for it as he believes that she should accept things that happened in her past as thye make her what she is today.

And she got bitten by a Seviper when she was 15. She was out training somewhere near Fallarbor when the thing went for her leg instead of the Poke she was training. Her Pokemon (who wouldn't leave her no matter how much she yelled at them xD) managed to drag her back to the nearest town, but even then the poison almost killed her and she came very close to losing that leg. She's still got a limp and biiig scars there. D:

This is amazing, I was particularly taken by the shadows of the bars of the cage for some reason- I struggle to follow how shadows fall across a face- so yeah- XD Oh- and the montage panel- of her time with DD- sweet (for some reason i was reminded of Oliver and company XDD)
... fff- and her pinky finger *wiiiince* ouch, ouch, ouuuch....
Oh, and I have to add- the only thing that kinda threw me was Hale's pose when she was on the floor- I think something's up there- but still looks amazing, so I wouldn't even worry about it X3

Man, that pose with Hale face-first on the floor was a nightmare to figure out. I just couldn't get the depth of field and foreshortening right somehow and just sort of half-assed it there. >.<

And just to make sure... is Deedee's neck fur white or purple? I thought it was white in the forms, but it appears to be purple here...

Her neck fur is white XDXD It gradually grew that color from kittenhood, which is why it's absent in the flashback part, but I admit to being lazy for the bottom part where she's an adult, cause I was rushing to wrap this up and begin the next chapter
