I've seen a lot of Cave Story fan art and this has to be my all-time favourite. The composition is simply beautiful and beautifully simple. Flat backgrounds rarely work IMO, but the square, chocolately colour used here helps bring the detailed characters into better focus. Looking at the thumbnail, I thought this was actually a sculpture because of how crisp the reflections are. The armchair looks like it was made entirely out of bubblegum and it's so vibrant! The lines are so delicate and the shading so smooth that the time and effort you invested in this really goes to show. It was quite an inspiration for me and I've tried mimicking this art style in a couple of pieces since, never with your level of success. You've got a lot of talent and I hope to see more Cave Story fan art from you in future!
