Description Alright, these sketches are all really old (like, 3 years), but I finally got around to cleaning them up...these are all related to a concept for a fantasy story I have (not true fantasy, since it's kinda post-apocalyptic, but the closest to fantasy I'm likely to come).

The hero, in grand tradition, is just an ordinary guy thrust into events. His look reflects this, since he just has some old armor inherited from his father, and only has (initially, at least) a lead pipe for a weapon. He leaves his home and goes on a quest to...do stuff.

The robot ninjas are...well, I'm not really sure yet. And the more I think about this universe, the less they fit in (as of now, at least), but I still really like them.

I haven't thought much about the specific dragon types, but my basic concept with them is that they are like an insect colony/hive, with different classes having different jobs...they may also ended looking more insect-like.

With the basilisk/cockatrice, since they've had wildly different depictions, I've always envisioned them as separate creatures, with the Cockatrice being a monster chicken and the Basilisk being more of a monster serpent. A rooster and female snake would produce a cockatrice, which would be JP-raptor-sized pack hunters. A hen and male snake would produce a basilisk, which was a larger loner. Genetic engineering would likely factor into this somehow to explain how chickens and snakes could do it. And either one or both of them would have the petrification power, but in the form of an exhaled gas that would petrify whatever organic matter it comes into contact with, then spreading to the rest of the body (I imagine a character getting hit in the arm, and then having the arm cut off before the rest of him could turn to stone.

Following the chicken/snake basilisk/cockatrice bloodline is the Lizard King (placeholder name), a monster of my own creation. They are created from the mating of a basilisk and cockatrice...I haven't thought much about their powers, but they would be extremely rare and powerful.

Other parts of this world not pictured (which I'll have to draw in the future, for sure) include: a villain named Baron Ernst von Bloodhammer (or just Baron Bloodhammer, for short), who fights with a giant sledgehammer; a kaiju-sized dragon (unrelated to the insect colony dragons) dubbed the Feargon (name created by my friend in middle school for another project), and probably various other fantasy/mythological creatures...

Pretty darn cool concept you have here. I love the dragon colony-being as they're like an insect colony, do the different body shapes mean they have specific jobs to do as well?

The Cockatrice and Basilisk look really interesting. I love their designs, especially the Basilisks arms and the Cockitrices wonderful mix of bird and lizard, with neither overpowering the other too much.

thank you! For the dragons, yeah, each would have a different function...like the fat one, that would be the queen, I forget what the others are, but there'd be scout, warrior, worker/drone, etc...

and thanks! I haven't quite gotten down how I want the Basilisk and Cockatrice to look, but that basic design has been in my head since day one...
