Description
So, I was scooting around the net today and happened upon a site called PHaNS (Phantom Artists on the Net) to which I used to contribute pretty regularly back in the day.In order to show how much I've grown since 2003, I've decided to post a few of the pieces from that site on here to be compared with my current work.

I remember your work from that site! I thought I recognized your username.... You, along with Fdl'O and Romil Ilagan are still my favourite artists. I love your style and the rawness of your inkwork (mine is shoddy, probably why I'm still a graphite-user...).

Ah, Danke. Vielen Dank! To be added to such an eschelon is a great honor. I love their work quite deeply as well.
Ink begs for cross hatching in my opinion. Again, thank you very much.

Merely giving props where props are due. I really must get back into my artwork. All of the pieces in my gallery are so... old. My style and skill is mighty crappily represented by my DA account... which is kind of ironic.
Oh. And by the way, German FTW.

this is absoloutely superb!
i love it all! its a gorgeous style that i could never master myself. the only ting bothering me is that it constanly describes eriks hands in the susan kay novel, as nearly skeletal, and that his fingers were nearly inhumanely long and graceful *swoons*, in this pic i only see an ordinary (but extroadinarily drawn) hand, i might even go so far as to say that its chunky!, hehe, just my opinion.

Y'wanna know why that is?
When I drew it, I used my own hands for reference::smirks::
I've gotten a little better in the years since.

So that's why his hands aren't boney. At least you can draw hands. And nice pic.

Heeeh, yeah.... I kinda stopped working on PhANS when I went to college... though I think that dA has more than compensated for phanart in the fandom.
I always did love your high-octane, brooding old Phantom drawings. You should do more!

Haha! 'High octane', I love that. I know, I've been drastucly behind on my phanart as of late.
I think I should update a bunch of these old compositions.

Haha, funny how I'm goading you to do fanart when I'm on something of a fanart hiatus myself *hides Snape painting in progress*
It'd be awesome to see some 'before' and 'after' pieces!

Yeah! Like the "Lying in State" rehash that we talked about...maybe there should be a series.

HEY! *covers up canvas* NO PEEKING! (yet.... )
Might I request that you redo the one of Erik chilling out on the roof next to a gargoyle?

Wow, improvement!
It's comforting to see how you've stuck with a kind of related style all this time. Very interesting! This piece itself is amazing, too. I'm loving the gargoyles(?) in the background. And Ayesha looks deliciously menacing.

Thanks! They're sort of gargoyles, yeah. I've never really been able to draw realistic cats. hmm.
I don't know if it's stubborness or attachment to the style that has kept it around so long, but I guess I'm doing something right.

I actually love this piece. I loved it on PHaNS (I'm still bummed that it's not updated anymore) and I love it DA.

This is pretty good. I really like Erik's expression here. Menacing yet hypnotic, very like him. The stark contrast between black and white illustrates his duel nature of both angel and demon nicely.
