Description
"Within my realm, you may experience the height of bliss.", The entrancing voice intoned. He turned from the mantle to face her now, glowing eyes blazing in the near darkness. His fingers absentmindedly coiled into the folds of his cape with a growing tension. Now, as ever, he seemed every inch a feral beast trapped within the confines of his impeccable, perfectly civilized eveningwear.
She made as if to speak, but was immediately silenced by his deliberate advance toward her. Fear shown transparently through her widened blue eyes as her spine stiffened. For all of his obvious allure, she was still utterly terrified of the masked man.
Her eyes remained locked upon his as he swept past her, the aura of thinly leashed rage within him seemed to permeate the already charged, womblike subterranean chamber. She let loose a small sigh of relief after he had passed. So close, and yet a seemingly impassable gulf between them.
Suddenly he whirled upon her, cape billowing menacingly behind him as he bent toward her ear, the eyes below the mask glittering maliciously.
"But be warned, my glorious Angel, that with the slightest of disobedience, a thousand horrors shall replace every inlking of the former beauty!" He growled viciously into her ear, fingers gesturing as if to grab her shoulder. They never did, only stood flexing in the air, his elegant digits near spiderlike.
"I shall not be disregarded again. Neither as man or Angel."
With that, he was gone. An apparition once more.
: An excerpt from a little fic that I'm working on. I ended up illustrating the scene after stricken with writer's block.

Oh I love the full mask Erik. I'm a Leroux fan, for sure, and even though I don't see him in a light coloured mask, everything about this picture makes up for it. I do love his eyes. Erik can be quite melodramatic, no? Or maybe he just loves to be moody In any case, his character is captured so well... I think I've also become a fan of your artwork.
Really wanted to say that as I read the tidbit above, my stomach did flip flops - I saw the partial scene play out. I thoroughly enjoy your style and the depth of language you've used is almost thirst-quenching. I loved reading this and thus was wondering whether there was a place that this can be read in its entirety?

Were you ever able to finish the fan fiction, monsieur? If so, I should like to read it very much. The imagery and dark facets of the words is⦠enticing⦠much like the picture. So much emotion⦠and the colors are brilliant! Simply an amazing peice.

Who else? My gallery is an anti-Mary Sue zone.
...and it should be written somewhere in the fic chapter.

Not that I'm pro-Mary Sue, but there's no rule that any OW is one. I mean, it's possible.

Eh, it would have to be one hell of another woman. I think that Erik is too tunnel-visioned to give anyone else the chance.

Awww, its so pretty! And by that I mean it kind of creeps me out, but I like it.
curiosity compels, what did you use to color it? and if there is water and ink pen somehow involved, how do you keep it from drooling together in an unsightly manner?
π: 0 β©: 1
Opergeist In reply to ViolentYoda [2008-01-26 17:04:36 +0000 UTC]
There is indeed watercolor and ink pen! The trick is to do it one on top of the other. Ink it after you've watercolored...and let it set until dry of course.
I'm very pleased that it creeps you out::grins devilishly:: Bwahahaaha..
