Page 4, where still moderately-wet cat Whisperfoot reacts to wet-dog Hideki's sudden appearance with a fit of fear and anger, and strikes out with unsheathed claws.

Footsteps in the Wind is an RP between me and done in comic style, where I take the role (and draw the panels) of Whisperfoot the ShadowClan cat (Warriors), while he takes the role (and panels) of Hideki the wolf-doberman.

Finally ;w;
Sorry for the delay, I've been a bit busy and got lazy. |D I've had this unshaded forever. And I really like sound effects, by the way.

And to Hideki: I told you, you'd be surprised. |3 Before I saw that gif ([link] ), I had her reaction in mind, then I saw that and it was perfect! ;u;

Also, Whisperfoot likes to make scary faces. She may look pretty shy and calm, but she has a sharp tongue, likes to make smart remarks, is really protective of her clan, she's risky and sly, and surprisingly good at fighting. xD

And I have a rather noob question to ask.. What command is it that you type to link to another person, without showing the icon? (the way you did in your artist comments) |D

:dev username:
And if you take away the space, it's:
*username

It's fine, it's not noobish at all, I had no idea and was hopeless about it until I was lurking around and someone pointed it out somewhere. |D

Ooooh yay you posted! And this is awesome! I love how you placed the panels And no worries, take as much time as you want, we all know real life can get in the way sometimes, plus artblocks too xD

Oooh Whisper sure has a biased stereotype against dogs xDDDD I am now trying to picture Hideki as a mousebrained, dullwitted huge brainless oaf /Hideki goes deeeeeeerp and drools a river
Such a strong spirited and firey character Whisperfoot is; I likes 8D

Oh and did I mention how much I love your first panel? The emotions is so very well expressed!

Thank you! 8D And definitely. Mostly artblocks for me. xD

Yep! I thought she'd act like most clan cats do about twolegs and kittypets and dogs. xDD Always go with the stereotypes. Or at least that's how it was in the books for awhile. Narrow-minded clan cats. But I suppose they're taught that.
Oh gawd, I want to draw that now. |D And thanks! She's one of my favorite characters.

Really? ouo Thank you!
And urk, I just looked back over the page and found a typo. Witnless? OTL Fiiiiixed.

Typo? Ahaha, glad you fixed it XD

Due to not being able to get a hold of book 5 and 6 of the first Warriors series here, and the fact that when I finally did, I've lost the feel for reading it for a while, I haven't actually gotten around to fully reading it yet. But perhaps due to our comic-RP, I've found an interest in it again, and am planning to read book 5 when I've got the time. So far from what I've read (which isn't much lol), the dogs in here are black and tan, and from the spoilers I've come to know about, some cats have been killed, or lost half of their face to these dogs. I'm now not surprised at Whisperfoot's dislike and fear of Hideki; his looks rather fits those group of dogs, no? The dogs in the book also seem to have very limited vocabulary and speech patterns or even intelligence; it's no wonder the cats call them 'dull-witted' lol

Oh, yeah! You should start reading it again whenever you get the feel for doing so. The last two books are just really, really good. xD That does happen, and clan cats really do have a reason to be afraid of dogs. |D But there's been other instances where they just chase cats around then leave, but most of the time, they're pretty dangerous. It'll probably be so ironic, though, considering Hideki is pretty much the opposite of dull-witted.

I really should From what I've heard here and there, it seems that the last two books will get darker and darker; that's something I like about stories.

Though I'm curious as to why Erin Hunter would portray dogs as simply bloodthirsty, mindless killing machines. I understand if it's for plot development, though it does raise the question in me: does she have something against dogs? xD I'd have imagined them as another sort of species with their own intelligence, speech, hierarchy and way of doing things much like the cats, though due to their 'language differences', could not understand one another, and considered the cats as prey, much in the same way as the cats look to mice, squirrels, rabbits and other prey animals. But then again, that's just me

As for the settings of our RP, would you like me to explain how Hideki came to not be hostile towards cats, and to speak their language and understand them, or would you prefer it be revealed in the RP itself? XD

I don't think they have anything against dogs. x'D I suppose it's just from the cat's point of view. I mean, it's hard to put it into human perspective, but... Well, like, if you were a deer compared to the wolf, meaning that the wolf could eat you, you would think of the wolf as a bloodthirsty, mindless killing machine. Even though they have intelligence and hierarchies and ways of living, that wouldn't matter to you, what stands out about them is that they can and well cool. Okay, that doesn't do it much justice, uhh. |D Yeah, it's the language differences. The cats either just understand, like, "Pack, Pack, Kill, Kill!" because the dogs speak entirely differently, or those certain dogs are very savage. And you don't see cats talking to mice either, or at least not in a nice way, or the prey understanding them. I officially can't explain this, oof~ ;w; I understand what you're saying, though. OTL

And whichever you prefer is fine by me! xD

Oh, I actually meant the introductory chapter in book 5, where it was seen from the pov of the dogs. Even amongst themselves, they seem to have very limited vocabulary and driven by pure blood lust. Their interactions with each other seems nothing like that of the cats, hence why And after finishing the book, I realized that the cats could actually understand some of the words from the dogs 8D that should suggest that perhaps they can understand some of their language afterall?

As for the explanation, I suppose it can be done in the RP comic which I really have to get done soon asdfasdfasdf stupid art block. Y u no leave me alone ;___;?

Yeah! At least a bit, it would be cool if they actually were able to coexist with each other in the books. xD

I hate art blocks~ ;A; It always hits me when I try to do pages for SoV! I can't draw anymore, other than comic pages which are just a must to do. Urk. xD

You should livestream it or something! D: At least it doesn't require too much creativity or thought, it's just laying down the colors from a refrence or memory. Maybe that would give you more inspiration? Sometimes I can attack art blocks by getting some form of inspiration, at least for a little while.

Oh, how I wish to, but livestreaming the comic RP would kinda kill the surprise of the panels, wouldn't it? XD You're not supposed to know how it goes until the thing is completed, eh? >D
