Description Do I need to say why this event was terrible. It whole purpose was just to kill character that's was the purpose behind it!!!!! Let's see the characters that were killed Professor X, Cyclops, Beast, Dazzler, Dr. Strange, Nightcrawler, Magento, Thor, Daredevil and even more people! Oh by the way some of those deaths are ones that weren't involved in the plot besides being killed. A third of these deaths were killed in the first issue just to shock the reader!!!!!

Plus if you looked at the ultimate universe after this was released the Ultimate universe not only suffered from quality control and sales.

I thought you were talking about how alot of heroes in the ultimate universe died, and I thought to myself how true that is. Ultimatum, I haven't read yet. P.S. do you see Miles Morales as a well written character?

Oracledk In reply to Inkslicer [2017-03-30 19:56:18 +0000 UTC]

Peter didn't die in ultimatum instead a sequel event to it. Which was a well written story as it was clear he was going to die, but he was still going to be a hero.

Ultimatum literally the writers were not joking killing people RANDOMLY. The only one they planned to kill was Prof X, everyone else was just added for shock. Some were actually EATEN!!!!

Don't read it, it was garage and doesn't deserve your time. Miles I liked but overall he not that great as a legacy character, as he was just some dude that decided to be Spiderman without knowing who Peter was.

I see, I feel like Miles overtime tried to know who Peter was a man and about his life and past experiences, I just thought a sad coincidence, kid gets spider powers as soon as the original dies, like an apprentice taking on the mantle, anybody can be a Spiderman, but there's always one Peter Parker, I read alot of the Ultimate universe's Spiderman and X-Men, but not much else aside from Marvel's other titles. I liked the Modern approach the ultimate universe took, but I will avoid this. P.S. did Deadpool ever land a spot in the Ultimate Threshold!??

You mean if he was in the Ultimate universe? He was but he was portrayed more like he was when he was originally made aka the Deathstroke ripoff.

Yep, that still is a recent thing he does even in the Marvel universe. As it only came about when the internet starting calling it out he was a ripoff. As such Marvel decided to make him a joke character.

I'd like to see a standalone Deadpool comic in the Ultimate universe. Of course I wonder if it would be any different from the regular comics.

The ultimate universe is dead and the whole point of it was to create a new starting point for readers. The whole it takes place in modern day isn't a good enough reason as the main marvel universe still takes place in modern time.

Good point hence why I wonder if it would be any different, Deadpool may be a ripoff, but he's a good ripoff.

He was a ripoff he acted exactly like Deathstroke. Now though besides the costume he nothing like him.

Did marvel face any lawsuits??

Oracledk In reply to Inkslicer [2017-03-30 20:59:18 +0000 UTC]

No because now they don't care about characters looking similar. Names is a different story. And keep in mind he was never given his own book until he became a comedic character. So DC really had no reason to sue them before that.

Now though Marvel can use the parody argument in case DC would do it. But DC is trying to turn Harley Quinn into their own Deadpool. They even added a character named DeadTool that serves as a straight man to Harley's actions. His outfit is an inverted color scheme of Deadpool's outfit.

Imagine that.

Damn so Marvel's "ripoff" Joke of a DC character is now inspiring DC to Copy Marvel!?! Huh. Ironic isn't it?

Only good thing that came out of this, was Thing's design.

Oh, and the two Ultimate Avengers animated movies, those were awesome.

Ultimate Thing always had this design and the 2 movies are very loose adaptations of Ultimates 1 and 2 (Please note 1 and 2 are different miniseries to one another besides sharing the Ultimate this universe equivalent to the avengers.

Oh, I thought you were talking about ultimate comics as a whole, that one's on me, as a wise man once said.

I stick to the main 616 universe more so, I am not too knowledgeable on the subject of the ultimates, all I know is they ruined my favourite character, Hulk, and made him a cannibal.

And Blob ate wasp, fucking disgusting, and Giantman is a woman abuser? What the hell?! My pacifist is a woman abuser?! BULLSHIT!

But I might just be a bit biased for those three facts.

Oracledk In reply to DanielJHowe [2017-02-27 23:10:43 +0000 UTC]

Hulk was pushed to be even more of a monster than he was considered in the main universe.

Hank was already kind of an abuser as he had hit Wasp before, though what was show was very different that what was intended. during the time he was Yellow Jacket where he was growing insane but not truly evil, he was written as hitting Janet in a fit of rage accidently hits her. The script stated Hank would turn around raising his hands doing so hitting her by accident. The artist was like just decided to draw Hank just slapping her, the writer didn't find out until it was published.

The ultimate universe decide to use that as an excuse to make him a psychopath that regularly abused Wasp.

DanielJHowe In reply to Oracledk [2017-02-27 23:26:34 +0000 UTC]

That ruined ultimate comics for me, Hank Pym is supposed to be a pacifist, only fighting when he needed to, and never to Wasp, ever.

The only that stayed consistently good was Spiderman. Most of the Ulitmate universe suffered from "I'm a superhero who's an asshole, what means I'm realistic."

I for one, read comics to get out of the real world, not go go back in, to be honest I think realism is the stupidest thing a writer could do.

What in your opinion are some of the best comic storylines?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Oracledk In reply to DanielJHowe [2017-02-27 23:53:08 +0000 UTC]

Right now DC is where it's at there back to having great stories with the characters we know and love back to being themselves. Marvel is focus on appeasing SJWs who insult them and replace their iconic characters with nobodies who only trait is being (insert minority)

The only one do these changes that were actually good and honest to God was perfect was Flacon becoming Captain America.

Though some of my favorite storylines where Knightfall, Death of Superman (it's the story arc I use to anyone who says he's a Gary sue), Spiderman 2099 original run, Batman/Superman Public enemies, The Dark Knight Return, and Ultimate Spiderman

The realistic arguments was taken to it's worse in Ultimate as it makes you wonder why the heroes were evenings doing it.

DanielJHowe In reply to Oracledk [2017-02-28 00:40:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but DC's art style I hate, I want Jim Lee for the art, or at least someone who doesn't put a blob on paper and declare it DC worthy comic art but that's just my honest opinion.

Soon Marvel comics will be gone, that's just FACT, the movies are going to be full time and take over COMPLETELY, hopefully DC still stays in the race and doesn't start kissing SJW's feet like Marvel's doing, I can't imagine how Stan Lee, the man that basically made Marvel is feeling right now.

I didn't even like Falcon taking the mantle, he was a good character before, now he's a token, that's ALL he is now.

I see, my favourites from Marvel are:

Thanos War, World War Hulk/Planet Hulk, Civil War, FlashPoint, Infinity Gauntlet, Onslaught Saga, Age of Ultron, Age of Apocalypse, House Of M, Secret Wars, Secret Invasion, Fall Of the Hulks, World War HULKS, Age of X, Fear Itself, Avengers VS X-Men.

You know, back when they were good.

MY Favourite From DC are:

The Death Of Superman, Trinity, Knightfall, Dc One Million, Blackest Night, Amalgam, COIE/Infinite Crisis, Reign Of Doomsday, Night Of the Owls, Death Of the Family, Throne of Atlantis, Batman Year One, Darkseid War, Superman Reborn, Batman Hush, Justice League VS Suicide Squad, and Superman Batman Public enemies.

DC with Rebirth is has a lot of variety that perfectly captures what they book is about. The darker titles art have used faker title and look good. Generally have the Jim Lee look to it. The more little hearted books have more of a stylized look to them.

Unlike the New 52 that said "No COLOR AND ADD A CRAPPY FILTER TO EACH ISSUE!!! WE ARE GENIUSES!!!!!

Still, I wish Jim Lee was illustrating the books, the "Style" Of the comic arts are blobs on paper in my opinion.

There are more books that do capture his likeness pretty well.

Butt I can image when they started work on Rebirth they corned him saying he has to do more work since he done with DC ONLINE

Honestly I picture some editor at DC peering over Jim Lee desk asking if he done for several years. Then was he was finished the editor tackle him throws a bunch of scripts at him and tell him to get it done.

They only planned this event to end the ultimate universe before they decided to keep it around. The only death that was actually suppose to happen was Prof X since they wanted to write Ultimate X-Men without him as a way of having the team grow up as they were mostly teenagers.

Here another bad sign the writer's son just died. So the writer who despite having a mixed reputation before this wasn't in the right state of mind.

This event unintentionally did cause the death of the ultimate version since the most of the fans of the line just stopped reading and never came back.
