I'm not sure if I have chosen the right category for this...

Err... yes... I love this game and since I invested quite a bit of time I thought it would be a good idea to show these creatures.

You can select the black background (in the scenery selection) when you're viewing your creatures. This will work as a transparent background. Hope this helps!

Yup, one have a tribal outfit- in fact, all of the bone creatures have some tribal outfit elements, like for the head for example

That's cool!
I like the worm creatures (if that's the right word for it O.o) most!

Thanks!
o.O Well, as far as I know that would be the right word for it
I'm glad you like them! Btw, I created those worms for a spore adventure- if you have spore (and the galactic adventures) you could play it!

Diamantenstaub In reply to OrmIrian [2009-09-21 12:14:14 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, but I never heard of spore before.
I guess it's an online game and due to the fact I don't have internet at home it wouldn't make any sense to start playing any online games.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to Diamantenstaub [2009-09-22 13:02:19 +0000 UTC]

It's not 100% an online game. Actually you just need the interenet for register the game (without that you can't play it) and after that you never need the interenet again- but it makes the game more interesting.
No internet o.O That's a rare thing today somehow...

Yes you're right. But I can walk to the university and use the internet there if I need it. ^_^

Hmm, strange
Well, I searched for you and found you! I added you to the friend list (now you should at least see the message and can add me also to the list )
But I have to say that I don't play Spore active (atm), because my soundsystem died a while ago and without any sounds or music, gaming isn't really entertaining
Oh well...

OrmIrian In reply to meganbednarz [2009-09-22 12:58:58 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, Galactic adventures are fun, but somehow I expected more from... I also did expect more from the main game, but the creature creator is super awesome!

Yeah, Vista is rather stupid... I have "only" 4GB ram- the absolut maximum that XP can handle with.

btw... I left a comment for your spaceship

meganbednarz In reply to OrmIrian [2009-09-20 05:14:30 +0000 UTC]

huzzah! Haha, but Spore is hardly impressive for its sound... it's rather repetitive 0_o But I do like to listen to other music. Creature creator all the way!

But ugh, my new computer is faltering badly. It has crashed at least 20 times in the week I've had it. Prolly gonna have to reinstall Vista 9_9

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to meganbednarz [2009-09-20 16:14:59 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but I still can't play it when I hear just NOTHING... not even the effects. I would love to do some adventures, but if it's like that, it's impossible
Creating creatures is still an option though

Well, maybe because you have installed Vista I would buy Windows7 as soon as it is released, if I were you. I'm still using good, old Windows XP

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

meganbednarz In reply to OrmIrian [2009-09-20 21:45:05 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah... adventures it's much more fun with the effects... main game? Eh. Go Go Creature Creator!!

Yeah I am hoping to buy windows 7. Why did I even get Vista? 0_o it's super-crashing. Windows XP would be nice... maybe I still have my old CDs lying around. But it doesn't support 8 gigs of ram...

MizuGai [2009-08-24 09:03:40 +0000 UTC]

those are pretty wicked, i havent gotten all too far in galactic adventures as far as my space captain goes, hes kinda getting his ass kicked lol. if i get time i might try out your adventures ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to MizuGai [2009-08-24 09:45:13 +0000 UTC]

Well, is your captain more a friendly one? It's sometimes quite hard to survive a battle-adventure with a captain that has no weapons... I would suggest you to buy those claws on the warrior path. They are quite strong (and it looks cool).
That would be awesome! But don't expect too much from my adventures I tried too make them managable for every kind of captain, but warriors will have an easier job

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MizuGai In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-26 03:02:56 +0000 UTC]

lol,hes actually just started at space stage, hes got pretty well top combat skills(as far as creatures go) and the first upgrade thing i got was a health thinger, not so very helpful on the missions ive done lol. all the battle ones, very bad for me since i dont have anything but poison to shoot =] i got owned on some war one lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to MizuGai [2009-08-26 15:23:22 +0000 UTC]

Then I highly recommend that you buy those claws, if you level up again.
You might should do the standart adventures of Spore first, because they're relatively easy and gives you 100 points for each adventure
Yes, I think I know which one you mean- it's a really difficult adventure even for warriors...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MizuGai In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-27 04:15:51 +0000 UTC]

haha i intend to get them, probably should have gotten them first lol. thats a good idea,i shall do them next time im on spore lol.
yeah, its really like BAM oh i died >.<

OrmIrian In reply to MizuGai [2009-08-27 11:48:03 +0000 UTC]

Lee99 [2009-08-20 22:33:06 +0000 UTC]

These are pretty nifty! I especially like the worm thing with the purple on its body! creatures look cool when they have some glowing things on them.
How old is the game spore? is it only for PC or something? graphics look ok.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to Lee99 [2009-08-21 13:30:24 +0000 UTC]

Yep, but I would have chosen another color instead of purple, if you could change it... I don't like purple and pink too much
It's not too old- it came out 2008 for the PC. The graphic are not too realistic done- it has some special "spore-style", but I like this style.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lee99 In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-21 22:44:12 +0000 UTC]

I like purple, I add purple into most of the more elegant designs I do, It's a color that I feel complements the eastern look that I like, it seems to personify royalty or someone of high regard, as purple and gold are two colors that complement each other perfectly. that's just what I think anyway.

Spore looks like allot of fun! I'd enjoy making creatures in that game, i wonder If I could make monsters to look similar to my own designs, so how does Spore's creation system work?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to Lee99 [2009-08-22 12:18:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah- I don't think so far, unfortunately Well, I think it matters where and how much of purple you use. It's sometimes absolutely necessary to use that color for the atmosphere of a picture. But I would never, never wear something that is purple or pink

It's possible to create many things, but it needs some knowledge and training- but I think it's far more easier than a 3D programm.
You have a choice of some parts and a body (with a backbone)- you could form the body and the backbone like you wish it to be- either fat or thin, long or small... or whatever..
Here are some screenshots from the editor: [link] [link] [link]
You could only use a certain amount of body parts (like arms, horns, legs, wings, antennas, eyes... whatever there is)
If you enter the next few phases (civilisation and finally space), you have new parts like helmets and so- but those glowing thingies I used for my worms are only available, if you also buy the expansion pack "galactic adventures"
There is also another expansions pack (cute and creepy), where you have more body parts

Ah yes... there is a free version of the editor (there missing some parts, but it is good to get a feeling for it): [link]

Lee99 In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-22 22:52:18 +0000 UTC]

lmao, I too would never wear purple or pink! hahah.
I may have designed Male characters with purple in their costumes, but they live in a place where color is vibrant, and each color has importance in their culture.

Yeah, spore sounds like a fun creative game, I have studied 3d animation, so I have modeling skills, but alas I don't play games on computer, I'm a sorta console guy.
But from what I can tell, the game must have hundreds or thousands of possibilities!
I want to play an RPG or something where you could create your own weapons, Armour, costumes and monsters different than the games pre-set models, Imagine, FFX's monster arena with "you having the ability to make the new fiends the way you want", that would rock.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to Lee99 [2009-08-23 11:52:58 +0000 UTC]

Yes, and I never had the feeling that purple looks terrible in your pictures! It's always so well colored and drawn that I'm mostover speechless about it

Hehe, I prefer to play rather on the computer- although I have also a PS2 Consoles are more ...easy to handle, I think. You don't need to install things and download patches...
Probably, but it's also very timeconsuming to create something really stunning- and it needs also luck
Ahhh, that would be a dream. Really... I always liked games that allows players to be creative But it's kinda difficult to give the player an easy editor- and the right animations for every odd creature. For example Spore has problems with creatures that have no legs...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lee99 In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-23 22:32:12 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad you do like them despite the purple-ness! ^^
Thanks so much!

I hate computers, too complicated, and yes, installing hardware and patches is all a bit annoying when you just want to play games with no fuss, that's why I prefer consoles.
It would be hard, I guess certain things couldn't be done with the editors, I think most could be solved though.
Hahaha, yeah creatures with no legs normally do have problems especially if they normally have them... poor legless dragon thing.

OrmIrian In reply to Lee99 [2009-08-24 12:01:49 +0000 UTC]

Aww, you're welcome

Yes, that's a point for you Today, my sound system died- I can't hear any sound anymore, which is really frustrating. I need music for drawing and also for gaming! Baaargl!

The leg-less creatures of Spore sometimes hover a little bit over the ground- that looks very odd

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lee99 In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-24 22:37:22 +0000 UTC]

Man, I'd hate not having sound, I need music too when drawing or sculpting.... it must be frustrating indeed.

heheh, hovering legless creatures.... I personally find it fun finding strange glitches in games,
one game in particular has some of the best, Oblivion! especially Game Of The Year Edition or (Glitch Of The Year), its a good game if you like the type, but it has many weird things, enemy bodies can be shut in doors, the bodies go mental and limbs get stretched, arms will shake all over the place...pretty much like something out of the exorcist!
Can't forget the random glitch I found where dead bodies were standing upright and when I moved towards them they moved across the ground and went through a rock face! seriously freaky!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to Lee99 [2009-08-25 15:56:47 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, and it looks like the sound system has really passed off this world Stupid computer...
Well, now I listen music from CDs... I still have my hi-fi system

Ohhh, Oblivion I played it also, but I never had such strange glitches... but I don't have the Game Of The Year Edition
Uhhh... sound scary
Do you also have played Morrowind? It was somehow ways better than Oblivion. It has better designed landescapes (not just forest) and more fantastic looking creatures (not always just wolves and bears )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lee99 In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-25 22:09:10 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, your sound system pissed off the planet? or the type of sound system has? lol
Yeah, I have a small stereo I never use.

Yeah, I loved both games! Morrowind was better in many ways, I loved how diverse the landscapes were, cant quite remember all the creatures, but I do remember that the creatures didnt level with you, so you could find strong enemies right from the start, I remember near the beginning of the game I stumbled upon the Orc who had Umbra, (most powerful sword) I challenged him/her and killed them by hiding ontop of a rock where they couldn't reach!
I cant understand why they didn't keep some of the original areas from Morrowind in Oblivion, it would have been great.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to Lee99 [2009-08-26 15:29:57 +0000 UTC]

The advantage of Oblivion is that you don't have years to get somewhere But some different landescape and some bigger cities (at least a bigger main city) would have been great... But they probably had to spare their time and just "copy paste" the whole landescape

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lee99 In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-27 00:05:07 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, deadlines and graphical problems would mean they had to sacrifice certain things during development.
Still, I enjoyed the game, I still have it for my ps3 too, just wish my graphics card on pc was working properly, I would love to get custom mods for the pc oblivion, some custom mods were pretty insane.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to Lee99 [2009-08-27 11:52:05 +0000 UTC]

Yeah...
The mods are really great- you even can have a dragon But I only can play it with low graphics, because my graphiccard is not the best- and my soundsystem don't work anymore

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lee99 In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-28 06:02:13 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I looked for tones of Oblivion mods on youtube, there are some truly cool ones out there, new magic abilities, creatures, Armour, weapons etc.
Same here, our graphics card is stuffed, it's buggered, it's totally and utterly....well, it's just not that great for anything remotely game oriented!

ShadowKiwi [2009-08-20 20:44:24 +0000 UTC]

That's really neat! I am curious how the game makes moving parts and motion work. I like the small skeleton animal, and the flying monkey dragon thing xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to ShadowKiwi [2009-08-21 13:33:40 +0000 UTC]

I also have the artbook for this game- it was very interesting to read (and look) through it. They had many problems with the animations of the creatures, because there are some that have around eight legs and some that have none and all should be able to hold something for example...
I'm glad you like them

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ShadowKiwi In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-25 21:57:38 +0000 UTC]

Ooh, that's cool ^^ Yeah, I can see how that'd be hard.
Yep!

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Airlesse [2009-08-20 15:48:22 +0000 UTC]

How did you get them to look like skeletons? Did you use any of the Exoskeleton parts?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to Airlesse [2009-08-20 15:58:38 +0000 UTC]

Yes, both arms and legs are exoskeleton parts.
I just made a very thin body and attached a very small head. For the ribs I used horns and for the tail an antenna.
I created the skeleton head with the help of the armors (somewhere there is a skull). Because the original head is so small, the armor part hides it. Only disadvantage is when the creature talks, it doesn't change the facial expression or move its jawbones
