I'm not sure if I have chosen the right category for this...

Err... yes... I love this game and since I invested quite a bit of time I thought it would be a good idea to show these creatures.

Ah, I see. Is the galactic adventures worth it? And how much does it add to the gameplay? I have been considering to buy it, but I'm not sure

Well, they look awesometastic

Awww- it's hard to say
I'm somehow disappointed of this expansions pack (I expected more of it), but if you would like to create your own story, then it's definitely worth to buy.
You could also walk around in the 3rd person view (like in the creature phase). That's what I always wanted to and the creature phase was too short for me

(...and if you buy it, you could play both of my adventures...! )

I would wait still a little bit though- I think the recent prize is to high for it (my opinion)

Hmmm... Well, thank you for your opinion Yeah, the creature phase was my favourite too. I think it was really bad that they didn't let you out of your spaceship after the space phase

Hehe, that would have been fun, yes

Hmm, I see... I'll wait a bit then.

Again, thank you

Yeah! It would have been overcool, if you could beam you onto a planet and fight again the civilisation phase... or any phase you would like (except maybe the cell phase ). But no, you're stuck with a rather boring spaceship in a more or less boring universe Gnnnnk!!!

Dairuga In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-20 17:29:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it would Well, you can nurture forth your own colony by placing monliths, but yeah

And yeah, it was a bit boring that the space stage never let you out of that spaceship. But it was fun to pretend that the space stage was a survival game though, where you were trying to survive and build your own empire, avoiding the other races that hated you, and making own allies, etc... But it was too easy, in my opinion

Gnnnk indeed. They had such a great game engine, and so many availabilities, but it lacked good gameplay I loved the creature phase, but you couldn't do anyhting there. WHat was the point of stealthing and flying? Everything waited for you in their nests, and in clusters, so it's not like they helped you. The creture phase was supposed to be a place where you fought for survival, and amassed points.

They said that you could equip many parts to your creature, and they did different stuff. They named that fists, could be used as graspers, as well as a punching tool, for example. That gave you the idea of extreme intuitivity, but it all came down to one of 5 abilities, where you only pressed all the buttons, and killed stuff

Sorry for the rant

Yes, it is too easy... At the moment I attack the Grox empire- I want destroy them, but it's a biiiiiig empire
Yeah well... and I already found the earth (and destroyed it- without saving of course)
(btw, I added you as a friend- at least I think it's you...)

Something is missing indead- the whole game is kinda ...flat. I would like to play underwater as well (building underwater cities for example).
The flying was added probably only for the fun of it- and for being faster somewhere.

That was really disappointing- the fighting system was sooo boring- I mean, you just pick up some strong things in the editor and added it somewhere on the creature.... would have been cool indead, if you could have been an "inventor" of new attack methods.

Dairuga In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-21 15:14:57 +0000 UTC]

It is Yeah, that is probably the only interesting thing, since the grox is the only "big" empire, and they have real defenses set up.
Hehe I haven't found earth yet. I like to start my own civilizations on story-book planets, by using a monolith

Well, thanks If it's Dairuga, then it's me I don't know of anyone else that uses that nickname. Also, you might recognize some names

Yeah, it is. I would like some general interaction though. Being able to hang out on planets and do stuff like hunting, or something. Also, I found it lame that you couldn't inhabit ice or lava planets

Yeah, it was You just had to add the strongest of all parts, and then you could press those buttons and win. Also, why would you need them? By the time you got the strongest parts, the creature phase was over. Also there was nothing to do in the creature phase, other than attacking or dancing for others. I kinda expected it to be some kind of "struggle for survival" game, but it seems that everything was too easy

Well, being the inventor of attack methods would have been cool indeed, but it would have been way to hard to make. How could you calculate for example how different interactions would calculate to damage?

OrmIrian In reply to Dairuga [2009-08-21 16:56:11 +0000 UTC]

Well, I needed the help of Google to find the earth
Yeah, the account was called Dairuga and since the avatar was a dragon, I thought that must be you

You could colonize ice or fire planets- but it seems creatures all need a terraformed planet- what disappointed me too. I mean it's possible that there are some strange creatures out there somewhere that are fire resistant or the contrary...

Yeah... Once, I wanted to stay a little bit longer in the creature phase and decided to attack an epic creature- I defeated it (and got an achievement for it)!
In the galactic advernture thingy, you will have all the adventages of those strong parts- but the creature weapons are naturally not that strong anymore- but it gives new, futuristic weapons. But things like flying is a very useful thing.

Yeah I know- But it would have made the whole thing a little bit more interesting

Hehe, Google earth!
Hehe, that's probably me then

Yeah. Me and my friend had plans for dragons that lived on icy planets, but that didn't work They had to be perfect utopias for it to work

Hehe, how did you do that? I always get grabbed and thrown away... Yay for you! Epic.

Aha, I see. Well, that sounds nice Flying is always cool too

Yes, it definitively would

OrmIrian In reply to Dairuga [2009-08-22 12:23:51 +0000 UTC]

Google earth indead!

I had added some of those spitting attacks- and then I attacked it only from far away Those beasts are strong, but slow. That's their weakness

Flying is supercool! If that had missed in Spore I would have hate that too!

Dairuga In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-22 13:18:35 +0000 UTC]

Yupp Except it's Spore

Ahh, smart Sounds like a smart tactic

Flying is really cool, yes But they should have made it useful for something. Add mountains or such that you can fly too, make some special part that you could only get if you knew how to fly, etc... but no

Also, have finally finished the lineart, and applied most of the basecolour on the kiriban picture! It's finally coming along Just a question though, how do you colour your images to get that amazing level of detail of yours?

It seems like every scale has a slew of different shades, so ho did you do it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to Dairuga [2009-08-22 14:22:23 +0000 UTC]

A special part for flying creatures- that would be really cool.

Wohooo! Cool! I give it either the color I want it to have (eg. green) and then I start the long and annoying way of detailing- which means every little scale is drawn one by one. Normally, I have something like a system- draw the contures of all scales first, than add lighting on every scale, then the shadows- in between I do parts of the background or other things, because the drawing of scales is a boring job to do Recently I found out that adding first some general shadows and lightings makes the whole thing look better.
If you want to change the color or the brightness, you could use a adjustment layer

Btw, have you seen my speedpaint video on Youtube? It shows a little bit how I do things like that- although I used a faster method, so that I can finished the picture around two hours: [link]

Dairuga In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-22 14:36:20 +0000 UTC]

It would

Hehe, do oyu want to see the lineart, or wait until I'm completely done? (it's not anything amazing though, like the one you did )

Ah, I see... I'll watch the movie right now I shall try to draw every scale separately too

Weeell, ...I know I should proably better wait for the finished version, ...but... Hell, YES!! I want to see it

I hope it helps you a little bit

Dairuga In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-22 17:02:46 +0000 UTC]

hehe, well, that's nice I can upload it to photobucket or something in about 2 hours, when I can get home to the computer I am working on. But yeah, I have problems with his face

Well, it looks really amazing, but I didn't get how you did it. If you could explain how you drew only the first horn, step by step, the that would be awesome

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to Dairuga [2009-08-22 19:11:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, yeah! ...you could also upload it to the scraps here... and delete it when you finished it Uhhh... Yes, I know it's difficult to draw It was my sillyness that I designed it like that

Err... I'm not really good in explaining- How about a tutorial? I can try to show how I draw ...horns? (or should I show more things, like the scales?)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dairuga In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-22 19:44:46 +0000 UTC]

You get rather excited ^^ I kinda dislike that, as it usually leads to dissapointments But okay, I can upload it to scraps

Hehe, His head anatomy is a BIG PAIN for me

Hehe, that would be awesome Yeah, and scales. I am quite amazed at how you did that. It looked as if you only use the highlight and shading tool, and a white and black colour, but you make it look so good

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to Dairuga [2009-08-22 21:53:55 +0000 UTC]

I looked at the picture and it's SUUUPER AWEEEEEEESOME!
The head looks incredible, I didn't expect that you would draw it in this perspective- it's realllly difficult to draw it in that perspective, but I did a really good job

I have done the tutorial, I don't like it that much but I hope it helps you.

btw, sorry for the late answer- I started as immediately with the tutorial and missed your uploading

Dairuga In reply to OrmIrian [2009-08-22 22:28:38 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, wow. I'm really glad you think so

It does? I was afraid it looked clunky, blocky, etc... And the teeth are very wrong and such, but it was the best I could do It's very, very difficult to draw indeed Yeah, you did a really good job

Well, it does Thank you so much for that

Bah, don't worry yourself over petty things. I don't care if you are late

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

OrmIrian In reply to Dairuga [2009-08-22 22:48:47 +0000 UTC]

No, a little bit bigger wouldn't make it blocky.
ARRRRRRRG! It get's late I think I wanted to say YOU did a really good job *bangs my head on the keyboard*
