Summary: Hawkflash is driven to become the best at whatever task she embarks on, her competitive streak showing whenever she works side-by-side with another Havener. She's a little insecure that most of her skill came from instincts that she honed as an Ashen that turned into raw muscle memory, so she takes every opportunity she can to push herself physically and socially to make up for her self-perceived failings. She's sometimes reckless to the point of stupidity, leaping in without thinking in an attempt to prove herself to watching cats. Despite her reckless nature, Hawkflash is notoriously witty, intelligent quips pouring from her mouth. She loves to make cats laugh and is creative and quick to make connections that will allow her to find humor in a situation. Having people like her is important to her, so she prides herself on her humor. Unfortunately, she also doesn't have the patience to deal with a lot of social situations, and despite her witty nature and drive to prove herself to others, she rubs a lot of cats the wrong way. She's very nitpicky when it comes to people and their personalities, and she can be quite rude to those disagrees with. Her favorite go-to phrase is "shut up," used either in a playful and friendly manner or with more venom when it's to someone she actually can't stand to hear speaking any longer. If she's feeling particularly nasty, she'll turn her previously stated wit to make stinging remarks or exploit the insecurities of others. Another mark of her nitpicky nature is her unwillingness to do anything that she's not interested in. When she's invested in an activity, she has the drive to prove and better herself as previously mentioned, but when she's asked to do something that she doesn't want to do, she becomes notoriously lazy. During these times, she has a habit of cutting corners on the work or procrastinating until the last minute while she spends her time laying in the sun, bonding with her familiar, or cracking jokes to other Haveners.

History: Hawkflash and her family were taken by the Calamity when she was a kit 2 months old. She turned Ashen immediately and has little history before that happened. By the time the Call came and she regained herself, she was about warrior age and she was living alone. She had learned through Ashen instinct how to fight, but that didn't really matter to her. She could only remember one thing. Rowan. A name. She didn't know why, but she liked the sound of it, and likes her friends to call her that, though she preferred it not to be a part of her Haven name.
Hawkflash can't remember anything before the Calamity. Her head gets woozy if she ever tries to think about it too hard. She spent most of her original time in Haven figuring out her familiar and trying to get him to talk. She and her familiar Twister spend lots of time there after at the Everbloom, chilling up in the trees and investigating the resilience of the plants there. She chose to become an Espion to keep herself in the action, without having to be straight in the action due to her slim physique. She had a lot of fun, exploring haven and playing around with Twister, however, she was lonely and wanted friends to make life more meaningful.

Her wish was granted when shortly afterward she rescued and befriended Bluebird, another cat who was to join Haven. The peace didn't last long however as Skinner and her gang arrived and seeds of doubt and distrust began to grow within Safe Haven. Hawkflash became irritable and almost unstable. One night, in almost a dream state, she attacked Twister with the intent to kill him. He managed to snap her out of it but she dismissed him and refused to summon him for fear of hurting him. During therapy with Nicholas, he told her that if she could love Twister she could love herself. Then the darkling murders occurred and Hawkflash felt utterly betrayed when it was revealed that Nicholas was the culprit. She and Bluebird teamed up after a short fight where Blue helped her regain her sanity. They took on Babylon together and made it to the top where Safe Haven defeated Nicholas. During one of the Babylon floors, Hawkflash was subjected to an illusion of cats that didn't exist in a world which was beautiful and peaceful, and believed she lived out several months of her life there. She fell in love with a tom named Smokey, and when she found out that the world was merely an illusion created by Nicholas, she left with a broken heart.

She is reckless when there is a challenge, often leaping without looking.

Beliefs: She believes in things that she can see, things that have proven to exist. She's not necessarily an atheist, but is skeptical when asked to take things on faith, so she believes in the energies but not any entities that are supposedly linked to them.
