History

A kit being born in the Ragged Clan, Briarkit acted slightly different from the rest, and it was not only because of his four ears. It was his odd behavior to observe everything and be surprisingly quiet. If he wasn't doing that, he questioned like other kits, but the questions were more confusing and more distinct than the other kits to elders and other cats:

Why must the sun rise from a certain direction? Why do adders have poison? Why must there a breeze that comes in randomly from almost every direction? Why does elders become more brittle than regular warriors just from age? How do birds sing? How and why do trees grow so tall?

However, he preferred to talk to the cats with stars shining off their pelt. He felt the cats within his clan were either lying to him or skewing the truth.

Briarkit then became Briarpaw and was placed under the care of a mentor that looked down on him. At first, the relationship was shaky, but they warmed up together as the moons past by. However, the mentor was still irritated by his apprentice's  avalanche of questions whenever he takes a step.

Later with the name Briarstripe as his new identity, the warrior became dull with his life as a warrior. Many times, he wanted to leave and live a life of freedom and adventure, but one thing kept him there. Briarstripe took a fancy to Duskwind with her sharp tongue. There was also a time that she left the clan and came back with a collar on. Everyone was disgusted by her, but he was one of the few that welcomed her back warmly. However with all the time he spent with her, he never told her his feelings.

The calamity took place when Briarstripe was out hunting with his old mentor near the mountain and the mountain exploded. Briarstripe barely made it out alive unlike his mentor, and then he ran away from the lava and the smoke. Many monsters spooked the cat until he finally rested in a forest made of earth. However, Briarstripe could not handle with everyone dead and Star Clan letting the calamity happened, so his body and mind became very weak.

Two wandering cats found the dying warrior and nursed his body back to health, but his mind was already gone. He killed ad ate his caretakers and went on a search for knowledge by studying his prey. He mentally tortured wandering cats and played with them by giving them false hope in one on one battles with him. The Ashen was never hungry and relished in the fun of finding out what was within the bodies of his prey.

One day, he came across a she cat with a green eye. He was in a mood to play. He let her pin him down, but the sight of her collar suddenly looked familiar, bringing unknown feelings and warmth. It was then that a flash of light ripped through his head as two voices spoke from within that white.

The tom then woke up to find the same cat within a tree above him. He could not bring himself to remember anything, so the two spent together to get him straight. The tom had trouble remembering the smaller cat's name, but he does know that she named him Crookedleap.

A year passed and a light shown from a location that inviting to them. They both traveled together to find themselves in Safe Haven.

Personality

 Exuberant
Despite his age, Crookedleap is always on his feet, running around. He could doing one thing but quickly be doing something else. Most of the time, he has bursts of energy that comes from no where when he is interested in something and having fun. Other cats might not be able to catch on to him when this state kicks in this old geezer.

 Observant
Crookedleap has very keen eyes when it comes to details. Even though he has a problem with his memory and having an outgoing behavior, it doesn't stop him from taking in every detail to whatever is in front of him. Sometimes his observation skills can make him blind to other things when zero on to something. However, he can also use this skill to read emotions to other cats around him by looking at their expressions, such as their ear and eye movements.

 Patient
When you want him to wait, he can stand in place with no problem. Crookedleap can be understanding sometimes. He can tolerate other cats and listen to others talk and wait for others to catch up. However, most of the time it matters to his mood when he can be like this.

 Curious
If there was something that would absolutely kill this tom, it would be his curiosity. Crookedleap can't live with having a question or mystery lingering over him. He will jump into a freezing cold river with thousands of ashen to appease the raging storm of questions that overflows his mind. This is even the driving force that keeps this tom alive. It also does keeps his paws busy but rue the day when he has nothing to do.

 Eccentric
Crookedleap likes to do everything at his own pace and follow his own train of thoughts. He always likes to view things in a different light, making his conclusions a little off or making an observations that no one else would conclude to. His bursts of energy doesn't help as well to this strange cat.

 Optimistic
Crookedleap never sees the glass half empty. He would keep his hopes up when in a situation, always seeking a solution in the most hopeless situation. However, he doesn't like it when other cats are all gloomy and downbeat. He feels it just brings others down in despair with their negative attitude.

 Actor
Crookedleap cannot register most emotions he is suppose to feel. He doesn't feel sad at the death of another cat, and he doesn't feel angry when someone breaks a tool of his. To keep cats from looking at him weirdly, he just does certain face expressions and body movements that another cat would do in his place. Sometimes, he would fool others by making other cats think that he is feeling a certain emotion. Also, he would almost lie perfectly most of the time with him being able to not feel guilty and let other emotions give him away.

 Apathetic
With his superb acting skills, it makes other cats believe he cares what they are talking about and respect them. In reality, Crook only cares what his paws are working on. He would ignore a cat's problems outright and not care when another cat is on trouble.

 Places Himself Above Others
Crookedleap has a tendency to look down on others until they prove his worthiness to him. If they can't keep him entertained or help any of his personal needs, then they are worthless to him.

Behaviors and Tatics

Likes:

Interesting things, New things, Crafting, Exploring/Examinating

Dislikes:

Boring things, Repetition, Being held down, His Short-term Memory Loss, His limp

  • He has short term memory lost, so don't be surprised if he easily forgets your name or forgets anything in general.
  • He can't feel some emotions or is not aware of them.
  • He is very observant and can quickly point out small details that are useful.
  • He likes to play around in fights and make the enemy irritable.
  • When it comes to killing, he would have the wide and creepy smile that would put other cats on edge, and he would also show no mercy as he slaughters his enemy.
  • With his time with Ghostie, Crook took the habit to always smile because he thought back then it would make other cats not be scared of him.
  • Since he has a bad limp, he would use his powers mindlessly to get around faster even if he hurts himself from exerting himself too much.
