Description
People often tell me that they have trouble drawing hands, but really, all you need is a bit of practice and a good tutorial. Lucky for you, here's the answer to your problem! Roll up your sleeves and take a good look at those hands, because you're gonna be drawing 'em!Some Tips:
1. I really highly recommend taking a human biology or anatomy class. It gives some great insight into how the body functions and how it is structured, and then art makes even more sense. Plus, you really begin to appreciate the human body!
2. Try to work loose and light. Really gestural. Pressing hard was always a problem for me, so once I started to learn how to draw in a more gestural manner, things really went well. Don't freak if your hand doesn't look up to par the first time. Your eraser should be used just as much as your pencil when you're working in the sketching phase. Darker lines can come later.
3. References are good. Try to find some good anatomy books at your local library; that's how I learned. That, and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE.
I hope this tutorial helps! There are more parts to this hand tutorial, so keep tabs and I will be posting more soon!
