Description
This is more or less a mix between a samurai and a western Knight.I think is a little bit more samurai, don't know.
I just wanted to create a cool design. I kinda of like it.

If Japan had more iron at the time we would most likely have seen something similar developed by the samurai.

This armor looks like to a mix of the samurai armor (Japanese armor) with the (European) (knight) armor (and possibly, the armor of a character of some movie or TV series or video game) and this warrior or soldier looks like to a character of some movie or TV series or video game and this could represent the war or battle or rivalry between the knights and the samurais.

The sword is the Heron Mark sword from Wheel Of Time. You can find replicas of it and tons of drawings.

And I think it's more of a knight))
Samurais don't have any connection to shields(neither skill to fight with it, nor against it) and steel plate armor(some of the richer nobles used exported/gifted foreign maximillian sets, but it's an exception).
You've done a really great work. Pity that I hate modern day samurai myth for stealing inspiration from knighthood

Two warrior castes, separated by oceans and time but similar than most think.

Indeed.
Elite soldiers, trained for years, with high status and driven by honor.
They also had very expensive armor sets and swords.
But the knights disappeared much earlier than the Samurai.
The peak of the Samurai era was on the Edo Period (1603-1867), while the greatest Knight's era was around 1100-1300.

This is incredible. It turned out looking like a gladiator more than a mix of a Knight and a Samurai. I've always wondered who would win in an actual battle between a Samurai and a Knight. I have my money on a Samurai, but I guess we'll never know..

epic, the samurai is the couterpart of the knight and the knight is vice versa. Cool

it looks great but more color should b added to the armor, love the details on the shield, also btw I think this is more of a western knight due to the fact of the lack in color and it is solid plate, not the more flexible scale armor most samorais wear. the kabuto however looks very original i like it.

Anyway.
Back then when I did this one I was really new to Photoshop. To finish this one was like delivering a child.
I must say it was a very lucky shot in the end. This one lacked early planning, I was more like, going with the flow.
Although I really wanted to make it a better fusion and I couldn't because of lack of skills on Ps and painting.

This is not entirely a samurai, its a mix between a samurai and a knight. Just making some experiments. The flamboyant side was the big red pants and the drawing on the shield.

I have to admit this one was really funny to do. But don't get yourself fooled, most of these details are photoshop dirty tricks. This software is like "the tool of the devil".
If I had to paint that with oil would dull.

I still like it a lot, though. It still takes skill to utilize shadows and highlights and color correctly.

The secret in that one was the color dodge tool with texture. I used to do that rusty metal effect.
But I do suck in Photoshop. I only know a few tricks. I do have to learn a lot if I want to be able to do something professional. Colors to me is the major problem with Photoshop. TOOOO MANY CHOICES!!!

You would not think like that if I told you how I did that.
That damn photoshop takes out all the honor in the painting business. In the past, I would have to draw every single one detail of the armor, now with this diabolical tool I can do the same ridiculously easier and incredibly faster.
