Description
This is my entry for [link] contest.I choose to make something like a cyberpunk Arvalis.
It took me more than 4 days of work to finish.
I hope you guys like it.

mmm it has the feel of sci fi due to the brest plate, but fantasy due to the armor on the arms and the weapon ur holding. actualy the left arm looks more mechanical then armor mmm wat game was that with the dude with the rlly cool robotic arm for the 360.

Yeah, I was thinking about Final Fantasy 7 series. (very beautiful aesthetically).
The left arm was a robotic one. I had a briefing about the character and I decided to make a cyberpunk version of his. It was fun to do.
I did this one for a competition. And I've tried to make my chances better by using elements that I thought the judge of the competition would like the most. hehe

With minor changes like blue eyes, big chin, and long hair and a couple of other details ... other than that is totally myself!

Wow! I have to ask, what program did you use to make this? The brushes you used look awesome and the quality of the image fits the character very well. Plus, the expression is daunting and impressive.

Photoshop, as always!
I once tried to use corel painter, but I have found it very difficult to manage.
I usually use regular photoshop brushes (90% of the time airbrush pen opacity flow) with 100% opacity and flow.
Well, sometimes I use (very softly) crosshatch filter when the image is almost finished to sharpen it. But very very softly, otherwise it looks bizarre.
This filter worked pretty well with the tough girl piece.

I guess it's always good to have the basics in traditional techniques. I find it really great to see the skills achieved through a traditional medium in digital form. It's a whole different quality to me.

Yeah, I noticed. But to me the character must be a tough guy to be the reincarnation of the most powerful warrior god that lived.
I must confess I was quite unsure about if you would like to see a character in another genre, but I though the character was timeless and by that easy to adapt.
I tried to make like a Prince-of-Persia/Sephirot-ish Arvalis.
