Description
Based on the movie ALIENS by James Cameron.Shown is the USCM Sulaco marine vessel approaching the LV-426 system. I've tried to get as close to what you see in the movie as possible, as far as the planetary configuration is concerned, but everything else is my interpretation.
Since it is a little subtle (wanted), I mention it as well; to the left there is a little nebula I decided to shape a little like an Alien embryo. Call it the "Alienhead Nebula" (the alien version of the "Horsehead Nebula" if you will).

Background: Textured environment (starfield), plus digital painting. My work. Thank you Google Earth for the planet/moon textures.
Meshes: Sulaco by D. Proctor & Marc-Laurent Magnier.
Composition: Scene and lighting setup in LW, final composition in PS, including all FX.
Aliens © 20th Century Fox Film Corporation, Brandywine Productions & SLM Production Group, All Rights Reserved.
Original size: 5000x2300, resized to 3000x1380, cropped, including frame. 88 layers total.

I love Aliens space, they show it being so empty...

Well, it technically really is... but then, they don't have faster than light travel capabilities in the Aliens universe, do they? It's all cryo sleep based; that surely makes space ridiculously big.
