Description
This is based on the opening credits of ST:VOY.Let's say it's my interpretation of the final scene when Voyager goes to warp.
The title is based on the words Janeway utters towards the end of "Caretaker" and that sentence still sends a chill down my spine: "Mr Paris; set a course... for home."
More like this:
---
Background: Created from scratch in PS by myself, including the planet and starfield.
Meshes: U.S.S. Voyager by Sarod.
Composition: Created background picture. Scene, lighting setup and rendering in LW. Composed final piece in PS. Additional effects (warp glow etc.) done in PS.
Star Trek © Paramount Pictures, All Rights Reserved.
Original size: 1920x1080 (following update).
Total time approx. 3 hours plus about ~10 minute render time (times 6 or 7 due to tests) with a total of 24 layers in PS.
---
I dedicate this piece to who has become a very special person in my life and who I know will appreciate it in more ways than one.
Comments and critique welcome as usual. Full view recommended. Enjoy.
Updated April 2011.
Changed some of the lighting, size and framing. Just one of those 'need to finish' items on my list.

Really nice. Love the starlight coming from behind the cloudy nebulas.
Just going through my deviant stacks, trying to clean them out and came across yours

If that was a question I'm not sure, but in the Star Trek of the 24th century (TNG+) they use a method of recrystalizing the Dilithium inside the warp chamber using a theta-matrix compositor.

I love that Caretaker speech too, it gets me every time.
Great work. The background is brilliant. And, someone above me has said this but its so good I want to repeat: the slight blurring of Voyager really works and gives a genuine sense of motion.
Altogether now: 'Engage, Mr. Paris.'

Thank you. Yes, it's one of those scenes that make you realize the situation they're in.

Very nice. I love the use of the slight blur. Though I will say the bright point of light distracts from the Voyager.

Thanks, that was the idea! In terms of the lighting I did play with a few options, but considering how far the nebula is away and I needed a somewhat realistic lightsource, I kept it that way.

Thank you. She is, but I prefer her with her nacelles up. I did two versions of this and decided to go for this one. Much more sleek!
