Description
EVEN. MORE. KIRINS.
1) Candy Swirl (Pinkie x Autumn Blaze)
The person who commissioned this requested a chubby girl with a hippo plush, which was a GREAT starting point. I gave her green scales as a nod to Pinkie's pet alligator Gummy, but don't think too hard about the genetic implications of that. A note that applies to all the Pinkie designs: I love giving them those splotchy pinto markings and TONS of freckles, if possible.
2) Lite Brite (Twilight x Autumn Blaze)
rainbow night sky kirin! i took inspiration from those old lite brite kids toys, you know, with the pegs ? big fan of this design. her freckles twinkle like stars, and the stars in her mane also twinkle like stars... I know in canon the kirin all have the same color horns but I'm not following that just like I don't follow a lot of the MLP design conventions. I own these skies
3) Fire and Ice Kirin (Rarity x Autumn Blaze)
The commissioner requested some crystal-like features (including a crystal horn which was fun) along with a headshot of her nirik version..which gave me the idea to use a fire and ice theme, with her regular form being snowy/wintery and the nirik form being like a hot summer bonfire. They also requested a crystal lotus cutie mark. Maybe her special talent is holistic natural healing using snow? Or she grows crystal flowers like Mistmane.
4) Autumn Moon Witch (Autumn Blaze x Trixie)
I love this design, it's one of my favs and also one of my girlfriend's favs. One of the fun things about designing nextgens is I basically get paid to theorize about character's genetics...you might notice certain traits showing up in certain characters/species. For example, with Trixie, a lot of her nextgens have a dark black coat...I'm thinking she has some ancestor who was a Black Beauty-esque stallion with a shiny black coat with a white blaze or something. Another example is me giving the changelings different colored legs/fuzzy manes. Anyway, I wanted the scales on this design to look like fallen leaves, to give it that autumn vibe. I also colored this while watching the owl house, which could explain that grey hair...love me some Eda....
twooo slots left for this grid!!
