Description Character relationships of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and xxxHolic. Initially I'd wanted to try to include some more CLAMP works in this, but after Tsubasa and Holic they wouldn't fit! XD CLAMP makes my brain jump through hoops just to keep up with who's related to who in what way, so I thought this'd help.... Ah, complete with sarcastic commentary, of course. Also, there should be a line connecting Clone-Sakura and Kohane indicating that Clone-Sakura is the source of Kohane's powers but there was literally no way to do that without cutting the map in half. Sigh.

adklfjsajfkjsljfkjdjk Holy sh*t this is some map you laid out. Arrows everywhere. But then, that was the mess that is Tsubas Reservoir Chronicle (and unfortuantely by extension, poor xxxHOLiC). How long did it take you to make!?

...I just realized you made the douwata arrow kinda onesided... did you intend for that? (one arrow is smaller than the other). Just an observation, because that really is kind of how their relationship is, even if it got somewhat better over time.

I think there should maybe be an arrow from Watanuki to Kohane saying something like "loves like a sister/daughter" since that's the vibe I got from their relationship. And he did do that whole "treat her well" talk with Doumeki like an overprotective relative in the Adayume OVA.

I wouldn't call Kohane and Doumeki UNHAPPILY married, as in, I don't think they're miserable with each other (they're not in love but they care about each other?). Their relationship is certainly unconventional though.

Hah, it took an hour or two, and that included two different drafts! I was gonna try to add in some other CLAMP series actually but they wouldn't fit!
As to the Domeki/Kohane/Watanuki issue- it's funny, because for the entire rest of the map I was using the mangas as my point of reference, but for those three I was mostly using the anime and specifically the Adayume OVA. The relationship between Domeki and Watanuki is supposed to be indicated as fully reciprocated on both sides, I just forgot to draw in one of the arrows....I did that in a few places elsewhere...fail....
As to Kohane and Domeki, I know they aren't UNhappily married, but I think that was probably me expressing my distaste for the anime's canon that they marry at all (this is where my Watanuki/Domeki shipping tendencies come out strongest). But if you think about it, any character who's an alternate of Emeraude isn't exactly bound for a life of bliss... You're right about the "loves like a sister/daughter" between Watanuki and Kohane- that's certainly how he feels about her and I couldn't fit that....I was using Domeki's line that she was in love with Watanuki from Adayume for reference in that one.

Heh, well you did an admirable job! because the Tsubasa/Holic thing has its relationships all tied up in ridiculous knots for sure.

I'm one of the rare birds who doesn't really ship Douwata (I kinda convinced myself awhile ago that I CAN'T ship it reciprocally without Himawari being there in an OT3 sorta situation) but I CAN look at the series objectively and recognize the relationships/feelings. To me though the whole Douwata thing always felt really onesided for a CLAMP relationship, even after Watanuki started treating him better.

I remember being surprised but not upset by the Kohane/Doumeki development, because while it was far from an ideal situation, it made sense. They saw each other a lot because of school, and eventually they needed to make sure Watanuki wasn't alone in the end. Of course, Doumeki HAD to have gotten together with someone considering his great-grandson at the end of the manga, and I honestly rather it be Kohane than some random faceless woman, where at least I can feel sympathy for this unconventional couple who got together for the sake of someone they both loved rather than for themselves.

As for the arrow, I meant you'd make a seperate arrow pointing from Watanuki to Kohane alongside the one pointing from Kohane to Watanuki, displaying how each views the other in a different light Interesting though that you relate Kohane to Emeraude, I never thought about her like that but it makes sense.

gah, sorry for the rambling, I'm strangely fascinated by the relationships in the two series, because this was CLAMP at their most heartbreaking/confusing/whattheheckaretheytryingtodo.

Only you would be so diligent in trying to understand all the relationships in CLAMP. BTW, if you haven't already, check Youtube for CLAMP in Wonderland 2, for a fun journey with the Mokonas.

What I WANT to do is get together with two other clamp fan friends of mine and make a giant plot map or relationship map out of all of the clamp stories....XD I WILL FIGURE IT OUT. I REFUSE TO BE BESTED BY CLAMP CONNIE YOU MUST UNDERSTAND

With CLAMP, sometimes is hard to figure out which realities are directly connected and when things are just alternate realities. Good luck trying to figure it out, and if you do, explain it to me.

Heh. I'll do my best. Then you've got the issue of who exactly is an AU version of who- sometimes it's clear and sometimes it's really really not. Like in Kobato I /think/ Kobato and Fujimoto might be Sakura and Syaoran. Maybe. >flails around while brain implodes<
