Hello anyone who decided to look at this abomination unto all things art. Some of you may recall that I originally drew "Cream and Cosmo: A Light Snack." Well...this is the same thing but now I colored it (I'm innovative!).

Some things you might notice:

1) No Shading: I plan to write, not draw, for a living so whenever I draw something, it's because I'm bored and really wanna see a scene I thought of on physical paper in a lesser quality than what I can see in my head. Given that, I can't be bothered to do more than just the basics. The only real shading I have here is on Cosmo's legs. Yes, those are her legs and not just stubs from what used to be her legs...I added that little field of black to help create the illusion of depth...probably didn't work out that well.

2) The outlines might suck: I've drawn and colored pictures in the past but I've normally been content to just leave my pencil outlines in there and not make them any more noticeable except in a few cases. Now that I've seen what it's like to ink my drawings...I'll probably never do it again. That's hard work and it takes forever. I salute those of you who ink drawings. Despite what some people think, you do NOT just simply trace. And even if you did, it's hard work if you wanna do it right.

3) The background's terrible: In the black and white drawing, I noticed you can still see the images I erased whilst drawing this pic so I wanted to cut the background out and make a simple kitchen as the new backdrop (no real effort would have gone into it). However, my magnetic lasso tool proved to suck as it tried to cut off things that I wanted to keep so I just paint bucket filled as much as I could with white. After all the time and energy I spent just inking this picture, I couldn't be bothered to go another 9 yards for the background's sake.

4) The art quality itself sucks: ...That's because I suck (you can tell I'm serious because the "I" was caps-locked to give it emphasis). As I said in my first pic, you're more than welcome to re-draw what you see here if you think you can do better than me. Just let me know how it turns out.

Anything else you need to know about this pic can be found in my comment on the b&w version (do I smell product placement?) though I'll be more than happy to answer any questions, comments, etc you may have for this one.

One last time, I'd like to thank Canime, Green-Knight, and Limpurtikles for helping me with this pic, whether you knew you did or not.

Thanks for watching.

I do enjoy that. It becomes a kind of guessing game. One reason I love Doctor Who. It does that at least 5 times per episode.

And I have a feeling you'll like Redwall. It seems like it's written for kids, but keep reading.

For real-real's? Not for play-play's? Wowzers. A friend from an old forum I went to always RP'ed as something out of the Doctor Who continuity (or something based heavily on it). Not having heard of that series though, I never had any idea what he was talking about.

I got into Sonic even though it was written for kids (back when it was actually written and not just a game), so I Redwall has a good chance with me.

And I have a feeling that you'll like redwall. It's always been one of my favorites.

If I were to pick up a British series at this time, it would be Being Human. I saw the first 3 or 4 episodes of that and thought it was great. That being said, if Dr. Who has been around so long, then it has to be good; especially when one considers that British series rarely try to run indefinitely. Dr. has been running since the 60's or 70's, right?

I looked up RedWallAbbey.org. Is that the site?

Being human is also quite good. I was originally skeptical about another vampire/werewolves show, but it caught my attention. Pity it’s not on more, though. Who needs anything sold on home shopping network, anyway?

Doctor Who has been running for a long time, thanks to a nifty plot device that allows actors to be swapped out. The show may be confusing to newbies, but it’s worth watching.

And yes, redwall abbey is the site.

I'm not big on modern vampires and werewolves either, but I like what BH does with them. The werewolves feel like honest-to-God werewolves and not just pretty boys with a "curse" that's actually a super power they can turn off at will. I also like the ghost. The fact that "certain kinds of people" can see ghosts makes me wonder if there's more out there than just vampires and werewolves. Maybe there's some other folklore/cinema monsters hiding amongst humans? That's too bad about the Home Shopping Network though. Is BH still on, just not as much? Or is it done because of HSN?

My RP friend frequently made use of his character regenerating as a new form which, as you'd guess, normally confused me. I'd imagine I would try to be a jerk and start from the start though. That way, I'm not confused about ANYTHING!

Alrighty then. I'll try to get to that soon.

I don’t like twilight at all, so I was kinda prejudiced about BH. But I agree.

I do like the forced transformation. Kinda like Lupin.

Well, my sister’s a demon. Does that count?

And it’s still on. HSN had nothing to do with it, but it’s kind of a useless channel. It would be nice to see more BBC.

That might be hard to do. There are lots of episodes.

Ozz-the-Wanderer In reply to Tangerine102 [2012-04-03 20:15:25 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad that BH enforces the gravity of having these afflictions rather than tries to make them look cool and romantic. In fact, it doesn't look like any one of the three characters is capable of romancing. Somewhere, rabbid fangirls are scratching their heads and wondering how you can have a show without romance.

Lupin? I'm not familiar with the reference. The only Lupin that comes to mind is Lupin III, which I highly doubt is what you're getting at.

Hey, so's my sister! Small world, isn't it?

Ah. So they moved the channel around or something for HSN? I hate when crap like that happens.

Heh heh heh. I imagine if I were to Google "Dr. Who episode 1," I'd either get 100 versions "Episode 1" from every season, or Google's head would explode from trying to look that far back.

Well, didn’t the show begin with the ghost-girl (name not coming to mind) pining after her boyfriend?

Referring to Remus Lupin, from harry potter.

Indeed it is.

I do as well.

I think probably both.

I can't remember her name either. I wanna say Penny, but I don't think that's it. Anywho, there certainly is a good amount of the characters trying to romance, but I was saying how, no matter how hard they try, none of them are capable of making it work.

Ah. I never read the books, so that's why I didn't catch the reference.

Wikipedia says Annie. And I love that. Makes it seem more real.

As for none of it working, that kind of leads me on a tangent. Are there any lasting relationships in Sonic? Any at all?

And gasp! I'm actually rather surprised. It seems that everyone's read the books.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ozz-the-Wanderer In reply to Tangerine102 [2012-04-04 18:21:15 +0000 UTC]

Annie eh? Too bad she's not a red head or has a gun...Heh heh heh...Not funny. Anywho, yeah I love the failing relationships too. I mean, how could you have a stable relationship when you turn into an unstoppable monster every month, consume the blood of the living every day (or go into withdrawal if you try not to) or are...dead? I really have to get back into this series.

I don't think so. Tails and Cosmo probably would have lasted if...well, you know. Rouge seemed to have something going with Shadow, but the most significant chapter of that was in '06, which was erased from history at the end of the game, and neither character is featured in the games anymore. The Archie comics relationships are all rocky because of the war with Robotnik. I think the only relationship that hasn't changed yet is Sonic and Amy...and that one isn't a real relationship. I guess animals have a hard time keeping their social lives running too.

Surprising, I know. I tried reading one book a while ago, but I got so confused and couldn't keep at it (especially since I didn't own the copy). I'd probably understand it now, but I read everything very slowly and even if there weren't 7 whole books to read...they're F-ing long. However, I've heard good things about them and even my friends seem to like them a lot, so I guess the hype is true.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tangerine102 In reply to Ozz-the-Wanderer [2012-04-04 18:27:29 +0000 UTC]

Exactly. Although I see how it's romantic, a one-sided love with a monster is dangerous at best.

Silvaze runs into the same problem as Taismo.

They are really good, though. Pick one up, if you have time. I'm sure you'll like it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ozz-the-Wanderer In reply to Tangerine102 [2012-04-04 19:11:58 +0000 UTC]

Maybe. But I don't think they show the normal person's side of the affair that much. The stories come almost entirely from the "monsters'" perspective which makes the romances seem more desperate than forbidden fruit.

That it does. It runs into additional problems when Blaze's backstory changes every game she's in and Silver's doesn't mention her in any game other than '06.

I'd consider it, but I have to get myself back into comic books before I even consider getting into regular books.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ozz-the-Wanderer In reply to Tangerine102 [2012-04-05 16:09:08 +0000 UTC]

And the fact that it's British makes me sophisticated just by watching it. Thankfully, I haven't heard any of their regional lingo though.

About what? Blaze's and Silver's backstories or something else?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tangerine102 In reply to Ozz-the-Wanderer [2012-04-06 14:30:15 +0000 UTC]

Me neither, though I have heard a bit of strange lingo in Doctor Who. Nothing I can’t understand, though.

A lot of things, actually. The backstory shifts, the resistance to any lasting relationship (leading to fanwars), Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games (People beat sonic in track, he beats them in swimming, etc.), Sonic Unleashed…

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ozz-the-Wanderer In reply to Tangerine102 [2012-04-06 18:13:42 +0000 UTC]

I'd imagine Dr. Who is a much more British series than Being Human, so the lingo there doesn't surprise me. Fortunately, British lingo is actually pretty well-known in the States, so it's not the hardest thing to get used to.

Ah, that. I think the relationships never last and the backstories always change because Sega is making Sonic into an episodic series now instead of one with a long-running story, so Sonic, Tails and Robotnik are the only ones who seem to show up these days. Can't say I agree with the process, but it makes it easier for kids (the series' target audience) to pick up the games and in any event, the hardcore fans weren't all that happy with the stories to begin with (again, I disagree, but that's the way things are). I'm disappointed that the MarioxSonic crossovers are limited to minigame collections, but I wouldn't get too upset about Sonic losing track races and stuff. Afterall, it was possible for him to lose races to Amy Rose Sonic Adventure 2. Gameplay doesn't always play out the way the stories do. As for Unleashed...oy. That game made me give up on the series.

Although I love Tails, seeing more characters would be nice.
I'm not upset about the MarioxSonic, but it irks me. using logic in sonic is tricky, but I feel it applies here.

Side note, did you try out Sonic and the Black Knight?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ozz-the-Wanderer In reply to Tangerine102 [2012-04-06 21:08:46 +0000 UTC]

That it would. Especially if they stop making new one-note characters and give more attention to their pre-existing characters. I'm always begging to see Metal Sonic, but Knuckles hasn't had a good appearance in a long time. It'd be awesome if the next game was a spiritual successor to Sonic and Knuckles. Not a reboot of the game, but bringing Knux back to the forefront and making him awesome again. It took them this long just to "master" Sonic's gameplay though, so even if they are working on something for Knuckles, they might not release it for a while.

I avoid the Storybook games like the plague. The gameplay never interested me and I hate the idea of Sonic recycling a plot that's been in EVERY cartoon ever...No offense to you if you liked those games.

Knuckles was the coolest thing about Sonic when I was a kid. To be more exact, Sonic was my favorite (later Tails), but Knuckles was always the most intriguing and it seemed more people were talking about him than anyone else. I'd love so badly for Knux to return as the coolest effing thing ever.

I heard most people weren't crazy about the sword in that game. Is there any easy way to describe how the sword worked in that game?

Tangerine102 In reply to Ozz-the-Wanderer [2012-04-09 13:01:21 +0000 UTC]

That would be cool.

Kind of easy, actually. Swing the Wiimote, and the sword swings. It had a little lag, though.

Ozz-the-Wanderer In reply to Tangerine102 [2012-04-10 04:18:00 +0000 UTC]

Well, here's hoping someone at Sega/Sonic Team feels the same way...

That simple? How did you run, the joystick on the nunchuck? And could you run and swing your sword at the same time, or did the swings kill your momentum?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tangerine102 In reply to Ozz-the-Wanderer [2012-04-10 17:59:25 +0000 UTC]

The joystick on the nunchuck (is there another?) And individual swings don't do anything, but a combo will pause you for a second. You regain your speed afterward, though.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Ozz-the-Wanderer In reply to Tangerine102 [2012-04-10 22:31:04 +0000 UTC]

Dang. Stopping to swing your sword makes sense with the medieval setting and heavy armor, but it'd still be cool if you could run at supersonic speeds and hack everything in your path to pieces.

The sword talks, doesn't it?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Tangerine102 In reply to Ozz-the-Wanderer [2012-04-11 00:16:09 +0000 UTC]

I may have overexaggerated the stop. You can run, swing your sword, and not lose any speed. You can use a combo of multiple swings, spin into the air, then immediately begin running at your previous speed.

And the armor is actually pretty light. All Sonic wears is a gauntlet, and the other knights just have helmets.

And yes, it talks. It can be kind of annoying, too. For a good portion of the game it insults you.

Heh heh heh...As Sonic and Shadow destroy Dark Oak once and for all, Cream decides to celebrate her own way. When Tails walks in later, he finds a bloated Cream and a note written by "Cosmo," saying how she's always hated him and ran away because he's so ugly.

Tails: Huh? This doesn't make any sense.

Cream (eyeing Tails up with a fork in her hand) : Hey, I got a itch in my mouth. Think you can scratch it for me?

Weird, right? I like Tails but for some reason, I don't mind seeing him lose at...pretty much anything. From what I can gather of Cosmo-haters, a lot of them hate her simply for being with Tails. Some comment on how strange it is that a fox and a plant would get together and others had their hearts set on Tails and Cream (or sometimes a fancharacter they made up "before" "Sonic X" came out) so Cosmo coming along after the fact annoys them. Others still hate her for being a Mary-Sue or uninteresting character. I myself don't agree with any of these things (except the Mary-Sue part), so maybe I'm misreading something.

Hmmm...I'm not sure if you would like this pic or hate it: [link] . It even comes with a story!

I like that pic too lol! Poor Tails XD. Well my reason why I hate Cosmo is the mary-sue part. And a little bit for her being with Tails. Because honestly I think SEGA should've put her with Cream; Cosmo didn't really have much of a point. And I doubt they'll bring her back or put her in a game.

Thank you very much! Glad you like the picture! Sorry I didn’t respond sooner, mucho school work…o.

While I can't empathize with disliking someone over who they β€œdate,” I can see why Cosmo would get annoying before long. It's not an argument for her, or even an excuse, but I think I like her because she was the first Mary-Sue I saw, so she was new and endearing to me, not whiney and cliche. But I do take issue with introducing someone just so that they can die. Every little scene has to revolve around them and everyone has to make a big deal out of when they finally die. It's been done to death (no pun intended) and the characters are normally flat outside of whatever emotional baggage they carry.

All things considered, I thought the Metarex were AWESOME and the way they tied in with Cosmo was great. It should have been elaborated on more, maybe try to rock a Darth Vader-Luke Skywalker deal or something, but it was still great in my book. Additionally, I think Cosmo has a personality that really complements Tails'. They both have confidence issues but want to do the right thing and have somewhat of an eye for science and introspective thought (or maybe that's just my vision of her). If Cosmo were handled like a character and not a 26-epsiode sad scene, I think Tails and Cosmo could have learned a lot from each other and really become something. She still never would have made it to the games but that's another issue.

One of the many flaws of the dying chracter: EVERYONE knows them to some degree and saw them do something important. There are no casual acquaintances, just friends or enemies turned friends.

I agree with you on someone not liking Cosmo. Amy could be jealous that she's doing so well with Tails whereas she can't get anywhere with Sonic, Cream might be jealous of her (admittedly, that'd probably just be for fanservice) or Knuckles might be too fixated on being violent and completely clashes with Cosmo's pacifistic ideals. However, Knuckles does seem to show no regard for Cosmo later on in the series, wanting to take the Metarex tracking device out of her brain even though he knew doing so would make her deaf and blind.

Awesome! Glad to hear you're back on the saddle! Drawing can be a tough pasttime but the more you work at it, the better it'll get. You start early enough, you could quite possibly go pro in the future and there isn't anything cooler than the entertainment industry.

Now that you mention Desfinity, that reminds me of the last comment I sent you. I didn't know you knew Desfinity so I mention them in a very vague fashion. Just ignore all the weirdness, it'll go by faster.

I love comments for the same reason you do. Without trying to brag, I like compare myself to Quinten Tarentino. In pretty much all of his movies, he goes on very long descriptions about movies, songs, etc that give you his opinion of what they're saying, what all the symbols and words mean. I LOVE to explain stories and analyze their details. When I see a good pic, I like to go into every detail about them. Similarly, I like it when I can get a good conversation going off of one of my own pics. I get an excuse to narrate my own thoughts and sometimes I even pick up a few things from my commenters. What we're doing here right now is what I live for on DA.

While I haven't been given any bad comments myself yet (my problem is that I don't have many at all), I have seen mean-spirited comments on other pictures that make me angry. There's disagreeing with a picture and then there's just being a jerk. Fortuntately, the artists who get said negative comments are typically quick to defend themselves so it's not like they're being victimized. Hopefully, you don't get too many upsetting comments...

The comments I really hate are the comments you see for fanart in which people will say how much they hate a character or story. The comments will have no bearing on the quality of the art or the uniqueness of the scene itself, just how much they hate what's depicted. Not only are they irrelevant to the picture, but they're normally mean-spirited and the commenters refuse to listen to counter-arguments.

THOSE are the ones that irk me to see.

This is not that bad, I do agree with you on what you have said, but I still think it was good to put this up here. I like the background story behind this, it is really entertaining, and I can not resist laughing at the fact Cream wants to eat Cosmo. It is just like some pictures I have seen with Tails trying to eat Cream, they are hilarious!

Also I will take up that little "Challenge" you left there, I will try to re-draw this picture, and when I am finished, I'll post it up on here, and I would like to see what you think. Though by re-draw, I just mean I'm going to draw my own version on paper, I have no coloring or computer programs to do that. My computer is a dinosaur with dial-up internet.

Hopefully I can have it up in a week. However, with Christmas near, I can not make promises.
