You never cease to amaze, putting you on my devwatch list was definately a good idea. If skill and talent was something you could steal, I would of mugged ya long ago. Definately throwing this into the little space on deviantart known as my favorites.

The final result is great... But not the best from you. Anyway, I really like your work because there`s only few people here that works on WW2 thematics.

Fuck me dead Paul... just... wow. WOW. It's been so long since we've seen anything from you, and to come back with this is just mindblowing. I can remember the last work you did was absolutely beautiful, but this steps beyond that, even if slightly less photorealistic and more like a classic painting by a realist of the early-to-late depression period in the 1940's around the war (hell, it'd explain the planes too
) and the style of stroking they employed then. But enough of my rambling, let's get down and dirty.
I'm absolutely loving the extremely fluid strokes and the ability to still see them being left behind rather than massaged into oblivion by a post-production process. Sometimes it can work being still and flow seamlessly, but I'm absolutely loving the amazing flow of lines and the beautiful flow of colours and stroke in this peice moreso than I would any other way, simply because it's a fast moving scene, and it needs a fast moving feel to accompany that. You've achieved it well, and for that I give you a huge commendation. Also, I'm loving the way you've combined colours in nicely blended packets, but you've left them discreet enough to take their own form, their own emotional charge. That is especially evident in the pool of water at the bottom with the heavily moving colour changes, as well as on the texture of the front plane, but most importantly and most emphasised by the background layout, it's chaotic and heavy with just the right amount of burning colours. Nicely done, for sure.
I'm liking the realism of this, but the step back from it as such. The town is wonderfully drawn, and the details on it are superb. This holds true into every other element one is presented with, especially the foreground grassing. Also, the nosecone of the plane and it's spinning prop have a huge amount of realism, if transposed onto a photograph I'm sure it'd be difficult to pick out a seam in the two. Excellent!
All in all Paul, I can't help but to sit here in awe at your artistic capacity, and just wonder what you're going to come up with next. If you don't come up with anything, I'm thinking it's not a problem because you've left on such a high note as this. Excellent work all around mate, and I can't wait for you to offer us some more mouthwatering paintings in the near future. Nooooice!

Another great painting. I really like the clouds in this one.
Great details on the planes, as usual. The little town in the background is quite quaint,
Whatever happened to that jeep?
