I survived another week with Benji the untirable. I am starting to learn how to tune him out even when he's talking to me. A neccesary skill if I am to keep myself from hurting him. I'm not a violent person by nature. But my new partner is testing my patience. Ever since we started working together, my quiet time has turned into Benji time and I did not sign up for that. The first week was the worst. He didn't even seem to notice the fact that I didn't want anything to do with him. But ignoring him and going my own way have finally started to make the message a little clearer. That he should keep his distance from me. He didn't quiet down or give up trying to start conversations with me. Neither has he stopped nagging me about following the rules. But he is respecting my personal space and that in itself is a load off. It was easier to stand him from a few feet away than from directly next to me. Today was a nice day. The sun was out and the tempature was climbing throughout the day. We made our rounds on the beach and through the coves. The marina coast was covered with little beach caves and cliffs. Usually I didn't pay any mind to it. Just doing my work. But Benji would point out all these little details and places. He made me look at my Region in a new light. We were walking through a tunnel kind of cave next to the sea. Our steps echoing against the walls and drips of water to be hears every few seconds. Because of the shade it was cooler here than outside and everything reflected blue lights from the water. "Wow look at that!", Benji called from behind me and I flicked an ear back. "That hole in the roof would make for an amazing view at the stars. Maybe we can come back here in the night?" he suggested with a smile. I'd hardly registered the hole above us. I turned my head towards the light and felt the rays of the sun warming my face. Benji sure could deal with rejection well. Not once had I accepted spending any time with him outside of work. But he kept on trying anyway. "I think this is a good place for a break", I told him and gestured for him to step into the light. Even with the invitation he was wary to stand too closely. I had made myself very clear before. A small smile played on my lips at his behaviour. It was hard to hate him, but I still couldn't stand looking at his happy face.

I tried something a little different here. Simpler lines and cell shading combined with my usual style of backgrounds. It was a fun experiment and I quite like the outcome!
I might use this style when making drawings for my stories c: The background was a challenge, rocks and caves are not my strong suit but I think it turned out quite allright
