Strike's point of view
Continues from the last part
It was silent as we made our way back to the river. Shimi's pace had slowed down even more. He was limping now. All I wanted was to walk beside him and support him but I knew he wouldn't want me to. Or let me for that matter. It almost hurt me to see him stumbling on his own and not being able to help. I wished I could ask him why he acted like this. But judging from the way he had either evaded answering easier questions or had given me vague answers to other ones I knew he wouldn't tell me. It was frustrating to be honest. But I couldn't help myself but prolong the time I had with him. I looked back over my shoulder to see him struggling. His eyes met up with mine for a brief second before he promptly turned them down towards the ground again.
I had never expected to meet him again. At the very least not like this. It had been an odd experience, travelling with Shimi. But I was definitely enjoying myself. Which was not something I had expected from this trip when I left my herd. Shimi had distracted me from my thoughts. Even though he wasn't much of a talker, he was on my mind most of the time. If only it was me trying to figure out what was going on in his head. But those times when he did open up slightly we had fun. I remember seeing him laugh for the first time and being absolutely flabbergasted at the realization he had the ability to do so. Which was weird, everyone could laugh. But when Shimi did it seemed like something special.
We reached the river and I stepped aside so that Shimi could cool his leg down. He was strangely compliant after his outburst after his fall. There were so many questions I wanted to ask him but instead I smiled at him encouragingly to get deeper into the water. The river was calm and clear and, judging by Shimi's shivering, cold. With a bit of deliberation I followed him into the water. Even if he didn't ask me to I guessed some comradery would be nice. He watched me as I entered the water and I made sure not to stand too close to him. After a while I could see him relax, which made me smile. The wounds on his side and back had stopped bleeding but there was a lot of dirt in them. I wondered if they'd leave even more scars on his already covered back. "You might want to clean the wounds on your back, they could infect like this", I said to him tentatively. Usually I would have proposed to help him clean up but I already knew the answer so I thought this would be the smarter option. He turned his head over his shoulder to check himself. He couldn't quite reach his wounds though. Let me help you. "Maybe you should go put your newfound swimming skills to the test", I grinned at him instead of offering to do it for him.
He stared at me blankly and I tilted my head to the side. Did he not understand that swimming would clean his wounds for him? I gestured towards my back and then looked back at him. His face lit up in understanding but he remained in his place, watching me. I had to turn my face away from him because I couldn't contain my laughter. He really did depend on me to lead the way everywhere. "What?" he questioned and looked at me with a frown. "Nothing" I replied with a chuckle. It were the little things like this that made me feel that he had opened up to me more than he let on. I forced down a shiver and turned to deeper waters, Shimi following behind me. The awkward silence between us lifted as we splattered about. Swimming seemed to fix a lot of our problems.

I told you I was thinking of writing a little part from Strike's point of view, didn't I? ;D
This was actually really fun to do! Strike came very easy to me to write for so I might do some more parts in the future
But yes have some insight in his mind. He's a really nice guy but why didn't he expect to enjoy himself on his journey? That's something that'll come up in the future but feel free to speculate
I really wanted to make this drawing something pretty, I might print it on canvas to hang in my room or make it into a mousepad c: I'm really glad with how it turned out! I didn't draw Shimi's wounds since it would kind of ruin the drawing but just pretend his back is bloody
So this drawing took me forever. I've been working on this on and off for nearly two weeks I think 0.o Not only because a lot of detail went into it but also because I was distracted. With what you ask? Undertale that's what! I know I'm probably super late to get to this game but oh my God what an experience! I found out about Undertale by watching Dan and Phil play it but they haven't uploaded a new part in two months and I was just so curious to see what would happen. So I tried to watch other people play it but I don't actually watch youtubers play games, not my cup of tea. Dan and Phil are pretty much the only exception since I would probably watch everything they do xD And I just love the voices they did for the characters. So I decided to play the game myself! But I also found Jacksepticeye who I really enjoyed watching playing this game. But I finished the game myself first because I wanted to experience all those feels! And man it was amazing!! <33 But yeah playing Undertale and watching Jack play both the pacifist and genocide route definitely took a huge chunk out of my time D:
But now I'm back in business!! Although I'm scowering the internet for Undertale art and songs and stuff but that takes up a lot less time xD
Anywho babbling aside I really hope you guys will like this drawing and reading a little part from Strike's point of view!

Thank you so much Noah! :tighththug: I'm so glad to hear you like it, I put a lot of effort into this one c:
Ooh I forgot that program existed! I just downloaded it and fiddled around for a bit with this drawing. It doesn't really work with the front bushes and with Shimi and Strike standing leg deep in the water. But I do really like the effect it gives! I'll try to use it for another drawing!
