Description
Indiana's Cheerios, fm dinker BP. A dinker is any technically normal, or wild type, individual that looks significantly different then a normal. And they are considered a dinker until bred and proven out for something or other. With Indiana she's got an almost patternless belly and quite a bit of flames on her sides. She's out of a WC (wild caught) fm who also was odd looking. Prob going to breed her to my ml Fire and ml Spider...see what I get.I choose the title that I did b/c it looks to me like she is thinking really hard about something. Maybe she also is wondering what her babies will look like when she is bred!

Thank you. She's one of my best ball pythons over all...great eater, spunky personality and I know she will make some beautiful babies next breeding season.
She is the third largest out of all my females.

Thank you. Ball pythons are definitely beautiful and have great personalities so make very nice pets. Plus they don't get HUGE like some other python species and are easy to handle.
Tops for an adult female is 5 1/2- 6 feet and that would be a large female...average female size is 4 1/2- 5 feet.

Oh that's cool. I like using themes to name my animals. All of my horned frogs are named after Tasty Cakes/candies. And quite a few of my other herps are named after NASCAR stuff...drivers, tracks, etc. One of the drivers I like is also from Indiana...Tony Stewart so that's how she got part of her name. Her full name is actually Indiana's Cheerios. Shes got circles in her pattern that remind me of the cereal plus Cheerio's used to be a sponsor for my fav driver. But I usually just call her Indiana now.

She actually is a GREAT eater. One of the best out of all my ball pythons. But the funny thing is she didn't start off like that! She gave the guy who bred her a really hard time with eating. He almost gave up on her and was about to humanely put her down. But he asked me if I wanted to see if I could get her to eat and I figured I'd give her the benefit of the doubt. At first she did give me a hard time too. But I wasn't going to have that! I force fed her twice and after that she's been eating on her own! She is now the third largest out of my adult female BP's and is a power house eater.
She NEVER misses a meal now!

I'm lucky I have such willing participants! I wouldn't be able to get any of the photos I have if my animals weren't ok with it. I have heard some say that in movies the hardest thing to work with is children and animals...they aren't kidding with animals! It's always on their terms and if they don't want to do something you aren't going to get that shot...whether in a movie or photo! Happy mine are pretty much ok with the crazy lady with the camera!

LOL, that is soooo, so true. Loki (my hoggie) always tells me when we're done with photos. He gives me a good little 'puff'.

How close is she to breeding size? She does have that light head and it looks in this photo as if her eyes are light too, definitely a sign that something's up.

She's of breeding size now. She was just a tad too small for this season but she is a good enough size now that I can condition her this fall to breed.
And yes her head and eyes aren't like a normal. They are lighter. Plus that belly of her's and the flames... I think breeding her with my Fire will produce something. At the very least hoping to get more Fires which are nice in themselves and a sort after morph.

She's actually a very sweet and laid back snake...most ball pythons are. It's just their nature to be timid and calm. It's how they got the western common name of ball python. When they are frightened, 9 times out of 10, instead of striking out they curl up into a ball, hiding their heads!
