She was so adorable as a baby. Now she's a beautiful adult. I have to see if I can get a nice updated photo of her.

Fm's generally are larger in bulk and body length as adults. If come pairing a fm right next a ml you can sometimes see a slight bulge at the vent of a ml but you really have to look hard on some individuals. The best, and most sure way to tell it either with probing or popping. Probing is done using specially made needle-like probes with a ball at the end. It is inserted into the vent of the snake. If it goes in deep it's a ml, but if it stays shallow its a fm. Popping is another method (that I prefer to use) where you gently press on the tail and push up to the vent. If it's a ml at least one of the hemi-penis should pop out. With a fm you will just see white. Both of these methods should be done by someone that has experience in doing them b/c you don't want to hurt the snake. Also, like anything, nothing is 100%. Tho some swear by probing I have heard of a snake that was thought to be a fm turn out to be a ml and vice verse. Again tho these are the most effective ways of sexing an snake.

Yeah I had to clarify that. I didn't want people to think that I named her that...tho a few "names" did go through my head when she poo'ed on me!
To me snakes can make one of the best pets..they are quiet, clean, hypoallergenic, etc. They are a living thing and all living things have the right to be cranky once in a while.

I don't breed corns...yet. She is my only corn snake but I do plan on adding a few more. In total I currently have 13 snakes...this corn, an Albino Nelson's milk, a Tangerine Honduran milk, a red tailed boa, a Children's Python, a hognose, and the rest are all ball pythons (a mix of normals and morphs). You can see shots of most of them in my snake gallery if you want.
My main breeding is with ball pythons but I am thinking of eventually adding corns and maybe the hognoses.

Wow awesome. I used to catch snakes all the time when I was young; I'm not sure what species. Always found them fascinating.

I had my first pet snake when I was 6 yrs old and I was hooked ever since. I also think they are fascinating and gorgeous creatures. Tho sadly still grossly misunderstood by a lot but I am hoping that my shots will help to shed a better light on them.

Yeah baby corns all have that "big eyes" look.
They need some time to grow into them...kind of like how large breed puppies need to grow into their feet.
My husband is actually afraid of snakes and used to HATE them! But when we started dating and he saw they aren't as bad as he thought he know respects them and see them in a better light. He will not handle them, like I do, but I do catch him checking in on them and talking to them.

Oh yeah I give him a lot of credit. I am not expecting him or others to love them like I do but at least respect them and treat them how they should be treated. I have heard so many people actually brag how when they come a cross a snake they will not even think twice about killing it. That is so sad that there are still people that have such a primitive and naive feelings of them. They may not be fluffy and cute like other animals but they have as much of a right to live as anything else does.

To tell you the truth, my fear of them doesn't let me kill one! If I had to protect someone by killing a snake, that person would not be protected....that's how scared I am of them. Anyway, I respect them wholeheartedly!!!

My husband's fear stems from a barrel full of garters being dumped on him when he was a little boy. But he never tried to hurt one either. Most snakes would only bite if you really are messing with them or out of a food response. A wild snakes first reaction is to try to get away. The food response bite is usually a captive snake missing their intended prey and grabbing a hand by accident. That is why I use tongs to feed and I wash my hands thoroughly before going anywhere near my snakes if I was handling anything that may smell anything like a mouse or rat.

They don't think before they do something...unfortunately there are a lot of adults that don't think either. If they did my fire dept would be as busy as it is. So many are just out for themselves and they don't think of the effects it is going to have on others. Kids at least have a physical excuse... they really don't have the brain development yet to think of hard consequences.

Yesterday, I got a taste of people not thinking. My cousin and I were going to the Dade County Fair, here in Miami, when we saw a fire off the Turnpike that could only have been started by some idiot throwing his/her cigarette out the window!! We called to report it, but were told they already had it, thanks! About a minute later we saw the trucks!!

I really think there should be stricter laws with cigarettes and people throwing them out of their car window. This is the worse time of the yr for it too. We always get more brush fires, mostly caused by careless "butt flicking", when spring starts.
