Description Luna, female Snow corn, checkout out some branches on a maple tree by my house. Not the typical photo you see of snakes but I like to try to get shots that are different from the norm.

Luna is absolutely gorgeous and I personally love her yellows and her pink cheeks! I own a beast of a snow male but he barely has any yellowing and his eyes aren't quite that vibrant pink color that your Luna has!

Thank you. She is a very pretty girl. Others have actually asked me if she is definitely a female b/c it's usually the males that are more colorful. But it does depending on the line and individual too. Do you have any photo's of your guy?

These aren't the best pics of him but it does show his massive-ness. This was the day we brought him home to save from the worst case of mites I'd ever seen. I have no clue what lines he comes from sadly. I've also tried to get him to breed with a few of my females and he's shown no interest whatsoever(and I know the sexes are right). I keep trying every season though.

Oh he's beautiful! Is he definitely not showing interest or are the females you have introduced to him not interested in him? I've had ball python females totally refuse a male, for whatever reason. Have you tried doubling him up, or using him as a second male after another one has mated with a female? Sometimes the doubling up can work. The smell of a female that has all ready breed may prompt him to make a move!
Oh and the bane of every herper...MITES!!! *knocking on wood* I haven't had any issues in over 15 yrs! The last snake that I got that had mites was a baby milk and he only had ONE! He was an albino so I saw it the second I opened the container and it was fully engorged just walking around by his left eye. I killed that nasty evil thing and kept the milk in quarantine for about a month and haven't had any issues since...THANK GOD!

Females are SO interested in him! They quiver and vibrate so much it's almost obscene and uncomfortable to look at! He just wants nothing to do with them. He's my only male of breeding age right now so he's all I've got for about another year or so. I've also heard of putting a male in with him to get him going and then quickly switching it out with a female? Poor Adolf!

The mites he had were atrocious! I'd never seen a mite case like his. How that pet store owner did not know that something was wrong was beyond me. He was in quaruntine for nearly a year because of it. The Nit solution worked wonders and I only had to treat him twice before they were all gone. Poor guy looked like he had just been rolled in pepper. He was nice and docile while being treated but once he was given the all clear and able to join the rest of the bunch..........he earned his name. He's bitten me several times and you'd think I'd been bitten by a boa. He likes to chew.

Thank you and glad you like the shot. The Snows, to me, have to be one of the most beautiful out of the corn morphs. There is just something about white on snakes like with snows.

Not to me...I breed them and think they are absolutely stunning. All of the snakes I have are very docile. Corns especially are totally harmless, except to mice and other small rodents!

PaganFireSnake In reply to liub03 [2011-10-14 21:46:03 +0000 UTC]

I can understand the fear. I have fears myself. The only animal I fear though is maggots. I had a bad experience with them when I was younger. Plus have you ever heard of the Bot Fly? Their lava actually eat LIVE fresh, not dead like house fly lava do. Nasty, live fresh eating things.
I pretty much grew up around snakes. I had my first one when I was 6 yrs old and have been hooked ever since.

Thank you and glad you like the shot. I do love corns, one of my fav species. They are beautiful, docile, super easy to care for and they don't get HUGE so very easy to handle. And all of the cool morphs! The snow, to me, has to be one of the prettiest. There is just something about white snakes.

IKR!! I have a opal corn and a anerythristic corn. Both....they're just beautiful. I them her at the pet store and I loved her instantly. They so are lovable and neither of mine have ever bitten me.

Corns definitely are one of the best snakes to keep. They are easy to handle, don't get HUGE, and easy to care for...the best all around snake. Opals are nice and so are the Anery's. I have a Granite, which is a type of anery.

owo snow corns are so pretty...
-loves snakes-

on average, how much would a baby snow corn cost?

PaganFireSnake In reply to AGloriousComeback [2011-10-14 20:32:25 +0000 UTC]

They are definitely one of my fav morphs. I particularly love those pink eyes of theirs.
As for price on them. It sort of depends. There are different lines of the snow...some having more pink or even greenish then others. But in general I would say you should be able to get a nice one for around $25-50, depending on the line. The ones with more pink can go for a bit more. And that is a price if you are getting it directly from a breeder...not a pet store. Pet stores very often jack up the price BIG time! :/
