Description Notice the head toss, and raised hoof, he was actually tossing his head and pawing the ground for the impending charge to follow...such an active boy!

This horse, a Belgian Draft, was SUCH a showman...you could totally tell he relished the attention of the croud and would toss his mane and prance about, pawing the ground if things got too stagnant and quiet...he was a really flashy Gelding, and I love that he was as into the scenario of Jousting as the two knights guiding his actions...and who says Draft horses are dull and boring?!

You notice the horses weren't in their full armour---the Knights sweated it out in 90 degree temps, but spared the horses the heat of added weight and close held metal breast plates and decorative cloth...so nice!

Wow, impressive!!! I'd have loved to see this guy perform! It's so great when you see animals who so obviously LOVE to be in showbusiness!

Yep, that's why I don't understand some of the PETA protests about Rodeos, since the animals used in at least the PBR are SO well cared for it isn't even funny! AND those bulls, steers, goats and Broncos KNOW what their duty is and that as soon as they fling the cowboy off, a nice trough of oats and alfalfa hay is waiting in their stall! Some Bulls like Bodacious and Yellow Jacket are performers too...docile as a baby in the pens, but as soon as it's time to "got to work" they are TRUE performers!

I realize there are some situations and animal involved spectator "sports" that NEED to be stopped, but to make a spectacle of ONLY the most televised and well known isn't going to make PETA and ALF look on the up and up so much as they would stopping a "backyard" or other world rodeo where animals are literally WHIPPED into a frenzy before a performance and/or really are injured/killed/put down in the process.

There ARE true showmans in the animal world, and I can fully appreciate watching them get off on pleasing the crowd as much, if not more than, their riders or handlers!
