Description
Large piece (22x30) executed in mixed media (acrylic, watercolor, india ink, gouache, charcoal) on 140lb hot press Fabriano Artistico. Roughly based on the concept of Odin's ravens, there is some vine like figures on the branches reminiscent of Nordic decorations.I sold the original: a bargain at $375... and have to admit that I miss it.

I love the little twist in the trees bark. The sense of being old and gnarled seems to ... permeate the tree.

I really like how the color begins to fade out as the branches near their tips, it's as if they are leaking color into the sky.

Beautiful work. I especially love the moody Autumnal tone of the image. Reminds me of my early years growing up in cold, grey Michigan. There's something foreboding about the painting too, and that really makes it compelling. Thanks for posting!
