Did you know he was just like some german theologists from the middle ages?
They also ate children, put needles in their genitals and believed to be from god.
I want to be JUST. LIKE. HIM.

he was one of the most fascinating human beings ever documented and no I didn't know that about the Germans. I wonder how many undocumented serial killers there were before the 1900's that just went apeshit without being caught because there was no organized law enforcement. I bet there are hundreds of psychopaths well never know about. An intelligent serial killer back in the early 1800's could just go from town to town raping, robbing and killing without ever being bothered. I mean look at all the crazy shit Ted Bundy got away with and that was only 30 years ago. It's always good to meet a fellow true crime fan!! take care/Dan.

I'm absolutely sure there are.

However, I think Ted Bundy only got away with it for such a long time because he was GOOD LOOKING!
Sometimes, those killers themselves aren't even the sickest of all...

Teds looks helped him get victims but he was also very intelligent and cunning. He moved around a lot and was constantly changing his appearance. Law enforcement wasn't as organized back then and computers were still primitive. Police precincts from different towns and states didn't share evidence with each other and thats the main reason why (in my opinion) a nomadic killer like Ted was able to do what he did. He also escaped from jail TWICE!!!

Getting his victims might be one point, yes, but I think that looking good also helped him in court and stuff...
Because they actually make it possible to deal with journalists.
And yes - I do count rhetoric abilities under "looks!"

Do you know anything about the SECOND time he escaped, btw?
I just know that the first time was because he was left alone in a juristic library...

Actually, his trail was a disaster towards the end because he chose to represent himself instead of hiring a lawyer. He wasn't handsome enough to avoid being sentenced to death but I totally get what your saying. I think your theory on the advantage of good looks applies to life in general.

Yeah, he escaped from another jail by climbing through a ceiling panel I believe. What a crazy kid...

In what way was it a disaster...?
Because maybe my theory can be modified then into, good looks are everything UNLESS you know about them, yourself!

But talking about crazy kids, do you know Walter Seifert?
He's my most favourite serial killer of all time.
Or rather, mass murderer...

It was a disaster because he chose to be his own lawyer which was extremely arrogant and immediately put him at odds with the jury and especially the judge. He was cross examining witnesses, police and medical experts on the details of his own gruesome acts which is down right comical to watch if you've ever seen the courtroom footage. He lost his temper several times and was even removed from the courtroom at one point. I would consider any defense that loses the case and get it's client sentenced to death a disaster.

Walter Seifert? Was he the flamethrower guy?

He was. He built it all by himself.
As well as the lance.

I just saw a Canadian exploitation film called "Hobo with a Shotgun" where a guy gets on a school bus with a flamethrower and wastes all the kids. I wonder if the writers were influenced by your guy. Thanks for the group invite by the way.

Possible, but I wouldn't bet on it...
Maybe it's just because burning kids never go out of fashion!

Thank YOU for submitting btw!
